Crumbs hosting keeps private Markdown notes on your own domain. Deploy Crumbs 0.35.1 as a self-hosted Markdown notes app: xCloud runs the pinned image as a single container with an embedded SQLite database, publishes it over HTTPS and keeps notes and attachments on a persistent volume. There is no preset account, so you create the administrator on the setup screen straight after install.
Self-hosted Crumbs is a Markdown notes app. Its README calls it a self-hostable, offline-first note-taking app that respects your privacy, with Markdown notes, tags, image attachments, an installable web app and optional OIDC sign-in for multiple users. People run it in place of a hosted notes service when they want the notes on their own server. It is MIT licensed.
On xCloud the template runs the ghcr.io/bretzel-app/crumbs 0.35.1 image as a single container pinned by immutable digest, with an embedded SQLite database and the crumbs_data volume holding the database and all attachments. HTTPS is published on your domain. There is no preset account and no password recovery: the first account created on the setup screen becomes the administrator, and setup then closes.
Self-hosting a Markdown note-taking app normally means a container, a certificate and a race to claim the administrator account before a single note is written. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account, pick Crumbs from the OneClick catalog and select a domain — no extra fields, xCloud sets everything up.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned Crumbs 0.35.1 image and publish the interface over HTTPS on your domain, shown in the installation details.
Step 03
Open the HTTPS Crumbs URL and create the administrator account on the setup screen right away. Create your first note, and add a second administrator under Settings > Users as insurance.
Crumbs runs in full here — the same Markdown note-taking tooling as any hosted instance, on infrastructure you control.
Write notes in Markdown with tags and a search-friendly editor.
Attach images up to 10 MB each to notes.
An installable web app that works offline and syncs when the connection returns.
Multi-user: the administrator adds users, with optional Google, GitHub or OpenID Connect sign-in for invited users.
Optional e-mail notifications through your own SMTP server.
Notes and attachments live on a persistent data volume and survive an xCloud Restart; this was verified.
Managed hosting for Crumbs, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Write Markdown notes with tags behind your own HTTPS address, with the database on a Cloud VPS you control instead of a hosted notes account.
Install the web app on a phone or laptop and keep writing without a connection, as the README's offline-first design describes.
Add images of up to 10 MB each to a note, stored in the same volume as the database so one backup captures notes and attachments together.
Add users as administrator and, optionally, link Google, GitHub or OpenID Connect sign-in to accounts you created, since those providers never create accounts themselves.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Per the manifest the floor is a single core, 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk. The 6 GB Cloud VPS sold on this page is far larger than that, and the disk is what bounds how many image attachments you can keep alongside the SQLite database.
Yes. Crumbs is MIT licensed, per the LICENSE file at the v0.35.1 tag, so there is no licence fee. xCloud bills for the dedicated Cloud VPS only, and your notes and attachments stay on the crumbs_data volume of your own server.
Yes, and this is Crumbs Docker hosting prepared for you. Upstream's README recommends Docker with a data volume; the template runs the project's own image 0.35.1 as one container, pinned by immutable digest, with crumbs_data and HTTPS in front on your domain, so no compose file is yours to write.
Open the site and create the administrator account on the setup screen; there is no preset account. Do it immediately, because until an account exists anyone who can reach the address could claim it, and setup closes once the first account has been created.
Yes. The administrator adds users under Settings, Users. You can optionally link Google, GitHub or OpenID Connect sign-in to those accounts by e-mail address, but those providers never create accounts on their own, so a stranger with a Google account cannot register.
No. Crumbs has no password recovery flow, so keep your password safe and create a second administrator as insurance. Another administrator can reset your password, and if an OAuth provider is configured and your e-mail matches, signing in with it also gets you back in.
Yes. The README describes Crumbs as offline-first, and it is an installable web app that works offline via IndexedDB and syncs back. Install it from the browser while signed in to your HTTPS address, and keep writing when the connection drops.
Attachments are images of up to 10 MB each, and the template raises the request body limit so such uploads are accepted. Larger files are not supported as attachments, so resize big photos first and mind the free disk on the server.
A backup is the crumbs_data volume, which holds the database and all attachments, taken as one unit before upgrades. Run only one container against the volume because the database is SQLite. Template sites have no built-in backups, so schedule your own and test a restore.
Nothing upgrades it for you: the template pins 0.35.1 by immutable digest. Existing installs keep their image until you adopt a newer template version. Copy crumbs_data, read the upstream release notes, apply the newer template version, and check that sign-in and an attachment still work.
It is your own Crumbs on a dedicated Cloud VPS provisioned by xCloud, not a hosted notes service. The container, the SQLite database and the volume belong to your install, and the app is served over HTTPS on your domain.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
