DailyTxT Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy DailyTxT hosting and keep your diary on a server you control. xCloud runs the pinned DailyTxT 2.6.4 image as a single container, generates the admin panel password, mounts a persistent volume for your entries and publishes the journal over HTTPS in minutes — entries are encrypted with a key derived from each user's password, so your writing is not stored in plain text on the server.

What is DailyTxT?

DailyTxT is an open-source encrypted diary and journal web app written in Svelte and Go, meant to be run with Docker. You pick a day in a calendar, write in a Markdown editor, and add tags, files and locations to the entry.

Upstream describes the encryption this way: everything you write is encrypted before it is written to the server's storage, and each account uses its own encryption key. This template deploys version 2.6.4 as a single container.

From Sign-Up to Your First Entry In Just 3 Easy Steps

Running a private journal yourself normally means a container, a session secret, an admin password, a volume, a domain and a certificate before the first line is written. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick DailyTxT from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, and leave Allow Registration on Yes so you can create your own account.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official DailyTxT image as a single container with no separate database, pinned by immutable digest, mount the dailytxt_data volume, generate the session secret and the admin panel password, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Register And Write

Open your HTTPS DailyTxT URL and choose Create Account — there is no default user. Sign in, write your first entry, and set Allow Registration to No once every account you need exists.

Everything DailyTxT Does, On Your Own Server

DailyTxT runs in full here: a calendar-based encrypted journal on your own domain, with storage you own.

  • Encrypted Entries

Everything you write is encrypted before it is written to the server's storage, with a key derived from your password.

  • Calendar And Markdown Editor

Pick a day in the calendar and write in Markdown with a live preview; the editor saves automatically.

  • Tags And Search

Add tags to entries and search for any word, tag or filename across your journal.

  • File Attachments

Upload files for each day; they are stored encrypted on the server, and images appear in a gallery view.

  • Multi-User Journals

Create several accounts, each with its own encryption key, so family or friends keep separate private journals.

  • Export And Read Mode

Export your entries, including uploaded files, to HTML, or switch to a distraction-free read mode for each month.

Everything You Need To Run Your Journal 24/7

Managed hosting for DailyTxT, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • DailyTxT 2.6.4 deployed instantly
  • Official image pinned by digest
  • Admin panel password generated for you
  • Kept behind xCloud nginx
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With DailyTxT

  • A private daily diary

Write one entry per day in a calendar view on a server you control, instead of a journaling service's.

  • Separate journals for family or friends

Create an account for each person; each account uses its own encryption key, so entries stay private to their author.

  • Entries with photos and files

Attach files to a day and browse the images of that day in a gallery, all stored encrypted on the server.

  • Finding an old entry

Search for a word, tag or filename, or use the statistics panel to see how your entries are distributed over time.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in the first time?

There is no default user. Open your site, choose Create Account on the login page and register your own user. The first registrant is an ordinary user, not an administrator.

Are my entries encrypted?

Yes. Entries are encrypted with a key derived from each user's password, so an administrator cannot read them — and a forgotten password means unrecoverable entries. Create backup codes in the app.

What runs alongside DailyTxT?

Nothing. It is one container that serves the web interface and the API, with no separate database.

Can anyone create an account on my site?

While Allow Registration is Yes, yes — anyone who can reach the site can register. Set Allow Registration to false in the environment editor and Save & Redeploy once your accounts exist, or put the site behind your own access layer such as HTTP Basic Auth.

What is the admin panel password for?

The admin panel, where users are managed, needs a logged-in user plus the generated admin password shown in the protected installation credentials. It is applied on every start; change it in the environment editor and Save & Redeploy.

What happens if I change the session secret?

The generated SECRET_TOKEN signs login sessions. Keep it stable: changing it logs every user out. The app prints it in the container log at startup, so treat container logs as sensitive.

How large can attachments be?

Keep attachments modest: each uploaded file is held in memory while it is encrypted, and the platform proxy accepts up to 100 MB per request.

Does DailyTxT contact anything outside my server?

Yes. The app contacts Docker Hub to check for a newer version, and there is no setting to turn that off.

What should I back up?

The dailytxt_data volume, which holds users, entries and encrypted files. Keep the generated secrets private.

What survives a restart?

Everything on the dailytxt_data volume — journal entries, accounts and sessions were still present after an xCloud container Restart in QA, because it is a persistent named volume.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update DailyTxT?

No. The template pins DailyTxT 2.6.4 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk; measured use in QA was about 143 MiB after a write round-trip. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, which is the smallest plan in the OneClick family and leaves ample headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with DailyTxT?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the DailyTxT project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source DailyTxT project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
