Set up Nightlio hosting and keep a private mood tracker and journal on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned Nightlio 0.1.7 web and API images, adds a browser sign-in prompt with a generated password, mounts a persistent volume for the SQLite journal database and publishes the web app over HTTPS in minutes — the API stays private inside the stack.
Nightlio is an open-source, privacy-first mood tracker and daily journal designed for self-hosting. You log your mood on a 5-point scale, write Markdown notes, tag entries, and review a calendar, averages, a journaling streak, goals and achievements. It is a web app that works on desktop and mobile.
Entries live in a SQLite database file on your own server rather than with a third party, and upstream says it has no ads, subscriptions or third-party trackers. This template deploys version 0.1.7.
A Nightlio stack normally means an API container, a web container, secrets, a volume, something to keep strangers out, a domain and a certificate before the first entry. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Nightlio from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then set a username and password for the sign-in prompt, or leave the password empty to have a strong one generated.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Nightlio API and web images, pinned by immutable digest, keep the API off the public internet, mount the nightlio_data volume for your journal database, generate the session secrets, and publish the web app over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS Nightlio URL and enter the username and password from the credentials card at the browser prompt. Nightlio then opens signed in: pick a mood, write a journal entry and save it.
Nightlio runs in full here: a mood tracker and journal on your own domain, with entries stored in a database you own.
Log your daily mood on a simple 5-point scale and add customizable tags such as Sleep or Productivity to see what influences how you feel.
Write detailed notes for every entry using Markdown for formatting, lists and links.
Review your mood history on a calendar, see your average mood over time and track your journaling streak.
Set goals and unlock built-in achievements as you build a journaling habit.
Nightlio has no login of its own, so the page and the session-token endpoints sit behind a browser prompt with credentials generated at install; unauthenticated requests get a 401.
The Nightlio API (Flask with SQLite) has no host port and is reachable only inside the install's private network.
Managed hosting for Nightlio, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Pick a mood each day and tag what shaped it, so a pattern such as poor sleep is visible later instead of half-remembered.
Use Markdown entries for longer reflections on a server you control, behind a sign-in prompt, instead of an app that holds your writing for you.
Open the calendar, statistics and journaling streak to look back over weeks of entries in one place.
Set goals and unlock achievements as you keep writing, so the habit has something to measure it by.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Enter the username and password from the credentials card at the browser prompt; Nightlio then opens signed in.
No. The page and the session-token endpoints require the sign-in prompt, and unauthenticated requests to them return 401 in QA. Keep the credentials private.
Nightlio has no password of its own in single-user mode, so the template adds a browser sign-in in front of the page and the session endpoints. The prompt is rebuilt from the username and password at every start, so changing them and restarting rotates the password.
A private Nightlio API container (Flask with SQLite). It has no host port and is not exposed publicly.
Optionally, through the template's environment settings; it is off by default. The prompt stays in front of it, and any Google account that passes the prompt gets its own separate journal.
The nightlio_data volume, which holds the SQLite journal database, and the stable .env values. Stop the site first. The template does not back the volume up for you.
The JWT and Flask secrets are generated at install and sign the session tokens. Changing them signs every browser out.
Your entries. In QA an entry was saved, both containers were restarted and the entry was still there, because the database lives on the persistent nightlio_data volume.
No. The template pins Nightlio 0.1.7 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.
The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk; measured use in QA was about 170 MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, which leaves plenty of headroom above that baseline.
No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Nightlio project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Nightlio project.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No credit card required, and no plan you have to grow into.
