GoCD Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy GoCD hosting and run your delivery pipelines on a self-hosted continuous delivery server you own. xCloud starts the official GoCD 26.1.0 server and a bundled Wolfi worker agent, both pinned by immutable digest, generates the administrator password and the agent auto-register key, mounts persistent volumes for server and agent data, and publishes GoCD over HTTPS at /go/ so jobs can run as soon as the server is ready.

What is GoCD?

Self-hosted GoCD is an open source continuous delivery server. Its README says it helps you automate and streamline the build-test-release cycle for worry-free, continuous delivery of your product, and the project documentation models pipelines with stages and jobs, runs them on registered agents and tracks artifacts and dependencies. It stands in for a hosted CI/CD service, under the Apache-2.0 licence.

On xCloud the template runs the official gocd/gocd-server v26.1.0 image plus one gocd/gocd-agent-wolfi worker agent, both pinned by immutable digest, with gocd_data and gocd_agent_data volumes. HTTPS is published at /go/ on your domain, and the administrator password and agent auto-register key are generated at install. Only password-file authentication is configured out of the box, so add more users and any LDAP or OAuth plugin yourself after you sign in.

From Sign-Up to a Running Pipeline Server In Just 3 Easy Steps

A GoCD setup normally means a server, an agent that registers with it, generated credentials, persistent storage, a domain and a certificate before the first pipeline. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick GoCD from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server; the administrator username is pre-filled as admin and the password is generated for you.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the GoCD server and one Wolfi agent on an internal compose network, mount the gocd_data and gocd_agent_data volumes, write the generated password and auto-register key to your protected site credentials, and publish the server over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Check The Agent

Once the server reports ready, open https://your-domain/go/ and sign in with the saved credentials. Confirm the bundled agent shows as Enabled and Idle under Agents, then set the site URL in Admin → Server Configuration and create your first pipeline.

Everything GoCD Does, On Your Own Server

GoCD runs in full here: a pipeline server and a worker agent on your own domain, with the data on volumes you control.

  • Pipeline Modelling

Model multi-stage delivery workflows with conditional steps, fan-out and fan-in, and promote artifacts from build through deployment.

  • Distributed Agents

One Wolfi agent is bundled and registers itself. Add more agents later on any machine using the auto-register key from your credentials.

  • Artifact Storage

Artifacts produced by your jobs are stored with the server on the persistent gocd_data volume.

  • Plugins For Other Sign-In Methods

Password-file authentication is configured at install. After first login you can add GoCD's built-in LDAP/Active Directory method, or a community plugin such as Google or GitHub OAuth, under Admin → Authorization Configuration.

  • Environments And Resources

Group agents and pipelines into environments and tag agents with resources, so jobs land on the machines that can run them.

  • Private Agent Network

The agent talks to the server over the internal compose network with no published ports, and there is no Docker socket or privileged mode.

Everything You Need To Run Your Delivery Server 24/7

Managed hosting for GoCD, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • GoCD 26.1.0 deployed instantly
  • Server and agent images pinned by digest
  • Admin password and agent key generated for you
  • Bundled Wolfi worker agent
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With GoCD

  • Run multi-stage release pipelines

Chain build, test and deploy stages with conditional steps and promote the same artifact through each one.

  • Coordinate fan-out and fan-in builds

Split work across parallel jobs and join the results before a release, using GoCD's dependency modelling.

  • Scale jobs across worker agents

Start with the bundled agent and register more machines later using the auto-register key as your workload grows.

  • Keep delivery history on your own server

Pipeline configuration, the database, artifacts, plugins and logs live on a volume you control instead of a third-party CI service.

GoCD vs Alternatives

GitHub Actions
GitHub Actions is a workflow service on GitHub. As a gocd alternative to github actions, GoCD is a server you run yourself with your own agents.
CircleCI
CircleCI is a hosted CI/CD service. As a gocd alternative to circleci, GoCD runs on a server you own, with the pipeline data on your own volumes.
Jenkins
Jenkins has its own xCloud template and is a plugin-driven automation server. In a gocd vs jenkins comparison, GoCD models pipelines, dependencies and artifact promotion as core concepts.
GitLab CI/CD
GitLab CI/CD is built into the GitLab platform. GoCD is a standalone delivery server that works across your repositories and tools.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How much RAM does GoCD need?

The manifest asks for 2 CPU cores, 2048 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk, and QA measured about 1.3 GB idle across the server and agent. The 6 GB plan on this page leaves real headroom for running jobs.

Is GoCD free and open source?

Yes. GoCD is Apache-2.0 licensed, per the LICENSE file at the 26.1.0 tag, so there is no cost to license it, and xCloud bills only the dedicated Cloud VPS, and your pipelines, artifacts and history stay on your own volumes.

Can you run GoCD with Docker?

Yes, and this is GoCD Docker hosting prepared for you: the template runs the official gocd-server and gocd-agent-wolfi v26.1.0 images, both pinned by immutable digest, with two volumes and HTTPS on your domain, so it works as GoCD cloud hosting on your own VPS.

What is the difference between GoCD and Jenkins?

Both run pipelines on a server you control. GoCD models pipelines, stages, dependencies and artifact promotion as core concepts, while Jenkins is a plugin-driven automation server. Jenkins has its own xCloud page, so compare them against your workflow.

How do I sign in to GoCD?

Open your domain at /go/ and use the administrator username and generated password from your protected site credentials. The server takes a few minutes to initialise on first start, so wait and refresh if the page is not ready yet.

Can I sign in to GoCD with LDAP or OAuth?

Not out of the box: only password-file authentication is configured at install. GoCD also has built-in LDAP/Active Directory authentication and community plugins for methods such as Google or GitHub OAuth, so after first login add one under Admin → Authorization Configuration, then test a fresh login before relying on it.

How do I add more GoCD agents?

The bundled Wolfi agent auto-registers with the server; enable it under Agents if it still shows as pending. To add agents outside this stack, take the auto-register key from your xCloud credentials and use it on any agent machine pointing at your GoCD server's HTTPS URL.

How do I change the GoCD admin password?

The password is written to the password file only on first boot, so changing ADMIN_PASSWORD in the environment later does not rotate the live login. Sign in as administrator, update the entry under Authorization Configuration, and verify a fresh login before discarding the old credential.

Where do I set the GoCD site URL and email?

After first login, open Admin and then Server Configuration to set the site URL to your HTTPS address and, optionally, to configure SMTP. Add further users there too, since only the administrator login exists at install.

What should I back up on a GoCD server?

Both volumes together: gocd_data for configuration, database, artifacts, plugins, logs and security config, and gocd_agent_data for agent working data and registration state. Both hold sensitive data, so copy them off the server, restore them together and test a restore.

How do I upgrade GoCD?

Nothing upgrades it for you: the install stays on pinned release 26.1.0 for server and agent until you adopt a newer template version. Back up both volumes first, read the upstream release notes, then verify login, agent status and one pipeline run.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
