Deploy Gonic hosting and stream your own music library to Subsonic apps from a self-hosted Subsonic music server on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned Gonic v0.22.0 image as a single container, replaces the built-in admin login with a generated password, mounts persistent volumes for the database, music, podcasts and playlists, and publishes the admin UI and Subsonic API over HTTPS in minutes.
Self-hosted Gonic is a free-software Subsonic server API implementation that supports many Subsonic clients. Its README lists browsing by folder or by tags, on-the-fly transcoding and caching through ffmpeg, podcasts, multiple users each with their own playlists, scrobbling to Last.fm and ListenBrainz, and a web interface for configuration, all written in Go. It stands in for a music streaming subscription when you own your music, under the GPL-3.0 licence.
On xCloud the template runs the ghcr.io/sentriz/gonic v0.22.0 image as a single container, pinned by immutable digest, with SQLite and five volumes for data, cache, music, podcasts and playlists. HTTPS is published on your domain, and the built-in admin login is replaced by a generated password. There is no browser upload: you copy music onto the server.
A Gonic setup normally means a container, volumes for the library and database, a replaced default password, a domain and a certificate before the first track plays. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Gonic from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and, if you like, set your own Admin Password (letters and digits, 12 or more characters) — otherwise one is generated.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Gonic image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with SQLite — no separate database. We mount the gonic_data, gonic_cache, gonic_music, gonic_podcasts and gonic_playlists volumes, replace the built-in admin/admin login with your password, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS Gonic URL and sign in as admin with the password from the installation credentials. Copy your music into the library volume, run Start Scan, then point a Subsonic client at your domain.
Gonic runs in full here: a Subsonic-compatible music server on your own domain, with the library, database and playlists on persistent volumes you own.
The admin UI and the Subsonic API share one HTTPS address, so many Subsonic mobile and desktop clients can connect with their own Gonic login.
Create separate users for each person and client instead of sharing one password.
Keep M3U playlists, download podcast episodes and add internet radio stations, all managed from the admin UI.
Gonic transcodes with ffmpeg as it streams, and caches the results on a separate rebuildable volume.
Last.fm and ListenBrainz scrobbling are supported by upstream.
The library is scanned at start and on file changes, so new files are picked up, or press Start Scan in the admin UI.
Managed hosting for Gonic, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Point a Subsonic-compatible app at your domain and play the music you own without a streaming subscription.
Give each person their own login, so playlists and play counts stay separate.
Add podcasts and radio stations from the admin UI and keep downloaded episodes on a persistent volume.
Send what you play to Last.fm or ListenBrainz from your own server.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

The template minimum for Gonic is 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk, and QA measured about 37 MiB idle. The 6 GB tier sold here leaves real headroom, and the music library is what grows the disk.
Yes. Gonic is GPL-3.0 licensed, per the LICENSE file at the v0.22.0 tag, so the licence costs nothing; your bill from xCloud is the dedicated Cloud VPS, and your music and playlists stay on your own volumes.
Yes, and this is Gonic Docker hosting prepared for you: the template runs the official ghcr.io/sentriz/gonic v0.22.0 image as one container, pinned by immutable digest, with five volumes and HTTPS on your domain, so it works as Gonic cloud hosting on your own VPS.
Both are self-hosted music servers with a Subsonic-compatible API. Gonic's README stresses browsing by folder or tags, transcoding, podcasts and a small Go binary. Navidrome has its own xCloud page, so compare its web player and features.
Use admin and the generated password from the protected installation credentials. Upstream's default admin login is replaced during install and is rejected afterwards. Change the password later in Gonic under Home and Change Password, not in the environment editor.
There is no browser upload. Copy your files into the music volume on the server, for example with docker cp into the container's /music folder. They are scanned automatically, or you can press Start Scan in the admin UI.
Many Subsonic mobile and desktop clients can connect using your domain and your Gonic username and password; the README lists several it has been tested on. Not every client is guaranteed to work, so test yours before relying on it.
It is reachable over HTTPS and protected only by Gonic's own accounts, so use a strong password and create separate users for each client. You can add Basic Auth at your own access layer for an extra gate; the template does not enable it.
Request logging is off by default, so Subsonic clients that send the legacy password query parameter do not leave passwords in container logs. Turn request logging on only if you accept that, and keep shell access to the server limited.
The gonic_data, gonic_music and gonic_playlists volumes together, and the podcast volume if you keep episodes. The cache can be rebuilt. Keep the admin password private, copy the volumes off the server, and test a restore.
Nothing upgrades it for you: the install stays on pinned release v0.22.0 until you adopt a newer template version. Back up the volumes first, go through the upstream release notes, then check sign-in and that a track still streams afterwards.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
