What is Navidrome?
Navidrome is an open-source music server and streamer with a modern web player, multi-user accounts, playlists and Subsonic API support, built as a single Go binary with SQLite. This template deploys version 0.64.1.
How do I get my music onto the server?
Navidrome has no browser upload. The navidrome_music volume is mounted at /music and is the library root; copy files into it as a sudo user with your usual server file-transfer workflow, for example docker cp into the container. New files are detected and scanned automatically.
Why is there no first-run setup screen?
Navidrome normally shows a create-first-admin form to whoever opens the site first. On a public URL that would let anyone claim the server, so the template uses ND_DEVAUTOCREATEADMINPASSWORD to create the admin user with the password from the install form during first start. The form is never shown.
How do I change the admin password?
Inside Navidrome, from the user menu. ND_DEVAUTOCREATEADMINPASSWORD is read once during initial setup; editing it in the Environment editor and redeploying does not change the password.
Does 10 GiB of disk cover my library?
The 10 GiB minimum covers the application and a small library only. Size the server disk for the full collection plus artwork cache and growth. Direct play costs no CPU; on-the-fly transcoding does.
What does xCloud configure automatically?
The pinned Navidrome image, the url, username and password shown in the credentials panel, persistent storage on navidrome_data and navidrome_music, the domain and the HTTPS route. Navidrome stays on internal port 4533, reachable only through xCloud nginx.
What should I back up?
Both volumes, together: navidrome_data holds the SQLite database (users, playlists, play counts, favourites, library index) and artwork cache; navidrome_music holds the files. Stop the container before snapshotting navidrome_data for a consistent copy. The library index can be rebuilt from the files, but users, playlists and history live only in navidrome_data.
Does xCloud automatically back up or update Navidrome?
No. The template pins Navidrome 0.64.1 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then update the image on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.
What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?
The template manifest asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 10 GiB of disk as a floor for Navidrome. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that floor.
What survives a restart?
Everything on navidrome_data and navidrome_music, because they are persistent named volumes. Restarting the container does not touch that data.
Is xCloud officially partnered with Navidrome?
No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Navidrome project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Navidrome project.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
