Jotty Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy Jotty hosting and keep your checklists, tasks and markdown notes on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned Jotty 1.28.0 image as a single container, mounts a persistent data volume and publishes it over HTTPS in about a minute — everything is stored as plain files, so there is no database to run or migrate.

What is Jotty?

Jotty is a self-hosted app for checklists, tasks and markdown notes. It stores everything as plain JSON and markdown files, so there is no database to run or migrate, and it runs as a single Node.js process.

It includes per-item sharing by link, an admin panel for adding users, and optional OpenID Connect single sign-on. It is licensed AGPL-3.0.

From Sign-Up to Your First Checklist In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting a notes app normally means pulling an image, mapping a data directory, putting a proxy and a certificate in front of it and then claiming the instance. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Jotty from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in and no credentials to generate.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We start the official Jotty image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with no database, mount the jotty_data volume, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain. The first start takes about a minute.

  3. Step 03

    Register The First Account

Open your HTTPS Jotty URL and create your account on the setup page right away — the first account becomes the administrator. Then create your first checklist or note and add other users from the admin settings.

Everything Jotty Does, On Your Own Server

Jotty runs in full here: checklists, tasks and markdown notes in one self-hosted app, backed by a volume you own.

  • Checklists And Tasks

Build checklists and task lists and tick items off, all from one web interface on your own domain.

  • Markdown Notes

Write notes in markdown alongside your checklists, stored as plain markdown files rather than in a database.

  • Sharing By Link

Share a note or checklist with a link. Anyone with the link can read that item without signing in.

  • Users And Admin Panel

The first account becomes the administrator, and other users are added from the admin settings.

  • Optional Single Sign-On

Jotty supports OpenID Connect; enable it with the OIDC settings in the Environment editor.

  • Plain-File Storage

JSON and markdown files in one data volume: users, sessions, checklists, notes, uploads and settings.json.

Everything You Need To Run Your Notes App 24/7

Managed hosting for Jotty, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Jotty 1.28.0 deployed instantly
  • Official image pinned by digest
  • No database to run or migrate
  • Kept behind xCloud nginx
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Jotty

  • A private to-do and checklist space

Keep personal or household checklists and tasks on your own HTTPS domain instead of in a hosted service.

  • Markdown notes next to your tasks

Write notes in markdown and keep them in the same app as the checklists they relate to.

  • Sharing a single list or note

Send a link to one checklist or note so someone can read it without an account, while the rest stays private.

  • A small team on one instance

Add teammates from the admin settings, or connect your own OpenID Connect provider for single sign-on.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What makes Jotty different?

It keeps checklists and markdown notes as plain files, so there is no database to run or migrate.

How do I sign in the first time?

Open the site and register on the setup page; that first account is the administrator. Jotty has no preset password. Do this right away: until the first account exists, anyone who can reach the URL can claim the instance. Once it exists, the setup page redirects to login.

What runs alongside Jotty?

Nothing. It is a single container with no database and no other private services.

Can I use single sign-on?

Yes. Jotty supports OpenID Connect through settings in the Environment editor.

Who can see what I share?

Anyone with a share link can read that note or checklist without signing in. Uploaded images, files and videos stay private unless you enable the optional SERVE_PUBLIC_* settings.

What should I back up?

The jotty_data volume, which holds all users, sessions, checklists, notes, uploads and settings.json. Back it up while the container is stopped.

Are custom themes and CSS kept?

No. Custom themes and CSS under /app/config are not persisted across a redeploy.

What survives a restart?

Data on the jotty_data volume. In QA the session, checklists, notes and items were all still present after an xCloud Restart.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Jotty?

No. The template pins Jotty 1.28.0 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 130 MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Jotty?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Jotty project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Jotty project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
