Kokoro Web hosting on xCloud gives you a self-hosted text to speech API and browser voice generator on your own domain. Deploy Kokoro Web and xCloud starts the official image, pinned by digest, as a single container with the web interface and an OpenAI-compatible API over HTTPS, lets you set an optional API secret key, and keeps downloaded models and voices on a persistent cache volume. Open the site and generate your first speech.
Self-hosted Kokoro Web is an open-source AI text-to-speech app: a browser interface for turning text into spoken audio, plus a self-hostable speech API that upstream describes as a drop-in replacement for applications using OpenAI's text-to-speech API. It is powered by hexgrad's Kokoro-82M, an open-weight model, and offers several language accents and voice customisation. It is MIT licensed.
On xCloud the template runs ghcr.io/eduardolat/kokoro-web 0.1.3, pinned by digest, as one container. The kokoro_cache volume holds downloaded models and voices, which download on first use. The API is open unless you set the optional secret key at install, in which case callers send it as a Bearer token. Generated audio is returned to the caller, not stored on the server, and the web interface needs no account.
A self-hosted speech API normally means a container, a model cache, a key, a domain and a certificate before the first sentence is spoken. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Kokoro Web from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and, if the API will be reachable publicly, enter an optional API secret key.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Kokoro Web image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with no separate database, mount the kokoro_cache volume for models and voices, and publish the web interface and API on port 3000 over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Save the API secret key shown in your installation credentials, open your HTTPS Kokoro Web URL — no sign-in is needed for the web interface — type some text, pick a voice and generate. The model downloads on first use.
Kokoro Web runs in full here: a browser voice studio and a speech API on your own domain, powered by an open-weight model.
Generate natural-sounding speech from text in the browser, with simple and advanced voice configuration.
A drop-in replacement for applications that use OpenAI's text-to-speech API: point the OpenAI SDK's baseURL at your Kokoro Web site.
Powered by hexgrad/Kokoro-82M, an open-weight 82-million-parameter model with Apache-licensed weights.
Multiple language accents and voices for narration, voiceovers, accessibility audio and prototypes.
Set an API secret key from the install form and API requests must send it as a Bearer token. Leave it empty and the API is open to anyone with the URL.
Downloaded models and voices live on the kokoro_cache volume, which is reused after an xCloud Restart, so nothing is downloaded again.
Managed hosting for Kokoro Web, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Turn scripts into spoken audio with a choice of language accents and voices, without paying a per-character fee for each render.
Offer a spoken version of text content from a speech service you run yourself.
Point an existing OpenAI SDK integration at your own base URL and keep the same request shape for text-to-speech.
Give a demo or an agent a spoken output quickly, from an API you control.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes. Kokoro Web is MIT licensed, and upstream calls it free for personal and commercial use. It is built on the Kokoro-82M model, whose weights upstream describes as Apache licensed. xCloud bills the dedicated Cloud VPS only, with no paid tier added.
Yes, and this template is Kokoro Web Docker hosting without the assembly. It starts the ghcr.io/eduardolat/kokoro-web 0.1.3 image, pinned by digest, as one container, proxies port 3000 behind HTTPS and mounts the kokoro_cache volume at /kokoro/cache.
The manifest floor is 2 GB of RAM, one core and 5 GB of disk. The 6 GB Cloud VPS sold here covers a Kokoro Web cloud install with room to spare. The cache volume grows with each model and voice you download.
Yes. Upstream says the self-hosted API works as a drop-in replacement for applications using OpenAI's text-to-speech API. Set the base URL of your OpenAI client to your domain with the API path from upstream, and pass your secret key as the API key if you set one.
Yes. The install form has an optional API secret key. Leave it empty and API authentication stays off; set it and callers must send it as a Bearer token. Change or remove it in the Environment settings, then redeploy for it to take effect.
Yes. The required models and voices download the first time they are needed and then stay in the kokoro_cache volume, so the first request is slower than later ones. The server needs outbound internet access for that first download.
The template does not configure one. It runs the standard container on the CPU of the Cloud VPS, with a 2 GB RAM floor. Upstream mentions WebGPU acceleration in supported browsers for the browser interface, which depends on the visitor's device, not on your server.
Back up the kokoro_cache volume, which contains downloaded models and voices. It holds no accounts or generated audio, so a lost cache can be rebuilt by downloading again. Keep your API secret key from the Environment settings, since it is not part of the volume.
Your install stays on its pinned 0.1.3 version until you adopt a newer template version. Read the upstream release notes first, then adopt the newer version. The cache volume is kept, so models usually need not download again. Test a speech request afterwards.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
