Is Kroki free?

Yes — it is free and open source under the MIT License. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the application itself.

Can I self-host Kroki?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the vendor-maintained Kroki 0.32.1 image pinned by immutable digest, running in secure mode, and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in minutes instead of assembled by hand.

Does Kroki require sign-in?

No. Kroki has no built-in authentication — the endpoint accepts requests from anyone who can reach it. Add access controls such as an allowlist, VPN or rate limiting at the edge if it shouldn't stay publicly open.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The domain and the HTTPS route, with the container running in KROKI_SAFE_MODE=secure. Only Kroki's HTTP API is published through xCloud-managed ingress.

Do I need to back anything up?

No. Kroki is stateless in this template — there is no persistent data volume. Diagram sources and rendered output exist only for the duration of a request; keep your source definitions in your own repository or documentation system.

Does xCloud automatically update Kroki?

No. The template pins Kroki 0.32.1 by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Review upstream release notes and validate representative render requests before changing the pinned version.

What diagram formats are supported?

The core image bundles PlantUML, GraphViz, D2, Vega and several other diagram engines behind one API. See Kroki's own documentation for the complete list and each format's request syntax.

Are the Mermaid, BPMN or Excalidraw companion containers included?

No. This template deploys only the core Kroki image to keep the baseline single-service and reduce its attack surface. Those optional companion services are not part of this deployment.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 1 GB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 4 GB of disk as a floor. This page sells the same 6 GB tier as every other OneClick app, comfortable headroom for concurrent render requests with room for other work on the same server.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Kroki?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Kroki project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Kroki project.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
