Deploy Meme Search hosting and run a self-hosted meme search engine where you upload images, let a vision model describe them and find them again by meaning, text on the image or tags. xCloud starts the pinned web app, worker, local description model and PostgreSQL with pgvector, and serves it over HTTPS on your domain. It has no login of its own, so keep the address private or add access control.
Meme Search is a meme search engine built to self-host, released under the Apache-2.0 licence. Upstream describes using AI to index memes by their content and text, with processing from image-to-text extraction to vector embedding and search performed locally by default, an optional OpenAI-compatible vision API for descriptions, and a documented read-only Search API. A self-hosted Meme Search lets you find the right meme in a large collection without a hosted service.
On xCloud the template runs the upstream web app, a background worker, a local image-to-text generator using the Florence-2-base model on CPU and PostgreSQL with pgvector, all pinned by digest, with four volumes. It has no accounts or passwords, so anyone who can open the site can view, upload, edit and delete memes and change settings. Upstream treats direct public exposure as unsupported.
Self-hosting an AI-searchable meme library normally means a vector database, a local vision model and a domain before a single meme is indexed. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account, pick Meme Search from the OneClick catalog, and choose a domain. There are no extra fields — xCloud generates the database password and session secret.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned Meme Search v2.3.2 web app, worker, local image-to-text generator and PostgreSQL with pgvector, and publish the site over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Wait about 2 to 3 minutes for first start, open the HTTPS Meme Search URL, upload your first memes, then run description generation — the first run downloads model weights from Hugging Face, so it needs outbound internet access and runs slowly.
Meme Search runs in full here — the same AI-assisted meme library as any hosted service, on infrastructure you control.
Find a meme by describing it, by the text written on it, or by tags, instead of scrolling a camera roll.
Image descriptions are generated by a local model (Florence-2-base by default) running on your server's CPU.
Use an OpenAI-compatible vision API for descriptions instead, while embeddings and search stay local.
A read-only, token-authenticated Search API lets scripts and other tools query your library.
Upload up to 50 files per batch (10 MB per file; jpg, jpeg, png, webp, gif) to index a collection quickly.
Uploaded memes, descriptions, tags and downloaded model weights survive an xCloud Restart of all four containers.
Managed hosting for Meme Search, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Search by what the image means or says, not by filename.
Find memes by the words shown in the picture as well as by tags.
Run description, embedding and search on your own server without sending images elsewhere by default.
Use the read-only Search API with a token to look memes up from other tools.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. For Meme Search Docker hosting the template runs four services: the web app, a background worker, a local image-to-text generator and PostgreSQL with pgvector, all pinned by digest. The web app listens on port 3000 behind xCloud's HTTPS proxy and the generator and database stay internal.
Meme Search is open source under the Apache-2.0 licence, so the engine has no licence fee. xCloud bills for the dedicated Cloud VPS and the deployment. If you choose the optional OpenAI-compatible description provider, that service bills you separately and receives the selected images.
The manifest asks for 4096 MB of RAM, two CPU cores and 20 GB of disk. Measured idle use was about 1.5 GB, peaking near 1.6 GB while describing images, and larger models chosen in Settings need more. That is why this page sells the 16 GB plan.
No. Meme Search has no accounts or passwords. Anyone who can open the site can view, upload, edit and delete memes, change Settings and create API tokens. Share the address only with people you trust, or add HTTP Basic Auth in front of it, which the template does not enable.
No. The default Florence-2-base model runs on CPU on your own server, and an OpenAI-compatible API is optional. The first description run downloads model weights from Hugging Face, so the server needs outbound internet access and that run is slow. Choosing the OpenAI provider sends selected images to that service.
Back up meme_search_db (memes, descriptions, tags and tokens), meme_search_memes (uploaded images) and meme_search_generator_db (job queue). The meme_search_models volume holds cached model weights that can be downloaded again. Keep copies off-server, since the memes volume is your whole collection, and test a restore.
Version v2.3.2 and its image digests are pinned together, so a catalog update reaches new installs only. Back up the volumes, read the upstream release notes, then adopt a newer template version when you decide. A harmless onnxruntime segfault may appear in the worker log while containers stop.
Each file is limited to 10 MB in jpg, jpeg, png, webp or gif, and the interface accepts 50 files per batch. The proxy accepts requests up to 512 MB, but a Cloudflare proxy caps a single request near 100 MB, so upload large collections in batches of about ten files.
Yes. Meme Search cloud use gives the app, worker, model and database a dedicated Cloud VPS with your domain and certificate. The first start applies migrations and loads the embedding model, so the site can take two to three minutes to answer. A server rented elsewhere can be enrolled as self-managed.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
