Deploy Meteroid hosting and run a self-hosted usage-based billing platform on your own server. xCloud runs the pinned Meteroid 1.0.0-rc7 release candidate with private PostgreSQL, ClickHouse and Redpanda services, a metering service and a scheduler, generates the secrets and database passwords, mounts persistent volumes and publishes the web app and APIs over HTTPS on three domains. Treat it as a release candidate.
Self-hosted Meteroid is open-source pricing and billing infrastructure for product-led SaaS. Its README says it addresses the limits of traditional billing for businesses moving to usage-based models, collecting usage through a simple API and applying your pricing models to generate accurate invoices. It lists real-time usage metering, flat, usage-based, tiered or hybrid pricing, versioned plans and invoices. It stands in for hosted billing such as Stripe Billing or Orb, under the AGPL-3.0 licence.
On xCloud the template runs the Meteroid 1.0.0-rc7 release candidate with PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redpanda, a metering service and a scheduler, all pinned by immutable digest, with four volumes. The web app, the API and the REST API each get an HTTPS domain. The first registered account becomes the owner, and email is off until you set SMTP.
A Meteroid stack normally means a web app, an API, a scheduler, a metering service, three data stores, generated secrets, volumes, domains and certificates before the first customer. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Meteroid from the OneClick catalog. Choose domains for the web app, the API and the REST API — there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned Meteroid release with private PostgreSQL, ClickHouse and Redpanda services kept off the public internet, mount four persistent volumes for the database, the analytics data, the event queue and the invoice store, generate the secrets and passwords, and publish three HTTPS domains. Allow two to three minutes for first-boot migrations.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS Meteroid URL and register right away — there is no pre-created admin, and the first person to register becomes the owner. Create your organization, then your first customer and pricing plan.
Meteroid runs in full here: the web app, API, scheduler and metering service, with the data stores behind them kept private.
Turn raw usage events such as API requests, tokens or storage into billable metrics, backed here by ClickHouse and a Redpanda event queue.
Model flat-rate, usage-based, tiered or hybrid pricing in versioned plans, so a pricing change does not touch existing customers unless you want it to.
Create and update subscriptions through upgrades, downgrades and cancellations, and keep customers, subscriptions and usage in one place.
Generate invoices and issue credit notes, with the PDFs generated and served from your own server.
Offer trial periods and coupons, and attach add-ons to subscriptions without switching a customer's plan.
A separate REST API domain serves API keys, invoice downloads and payment-provider webhooks, with API documentation at /scalar.
Managed hosting for Meteroid, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Send usage events to the API, turn them into billable metrics and let Meteroid generate invoices from your pricing plans.
Define plans with versioned pricing, so changing a price does not affect existing subscriptions.
Keep customers, subscriptions, invoices and credit notes in one self-hosted system.
Usage events, plans and invoices sit in PostgreSQL and ClickHouse volumes on your Cloud VPS, not with a hosted vendor.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

The manifest asks for 2 CPU cores, 2048 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk, and QA measured about 1.1 GB idle across the stack. The 6 GB plan on this page leaves real headroom for ClickHouse, PostgreSQL and Redpanda.
Yes. Meteroid is AGPL-3.0 licensed, per the LICENSE file at the v1.0.0-rc7 tag, so there is no licence fee. Meteroid Cloud features are not included. xCloud bills only for the dedicated Cloud VPS, and your billing data stays on your own volumes.
Yes, and this is Meteroid Docker hosting prepared for you: the template runs the official Meteroid image with PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redpanda, a metering service and a scheduler, all pinned by immutable digest, so it works as Meteroid cloud hosting on your own VPS.
Both are open-source usage-based billing platforms. Meteroid's README stresses real-time metering, versioned plans and invoices, and this template is a release candidate. Lago has its own xCloud page, so compare maturity and features against your needs.
There is no pre-created admin. Register on the web app right after install: the first account becomes the owner, and sign-up then closes to everyone else. Until you register, anyone who can reach the site can claim it, so do it first.
This template deploys 1.0.0-rc7, which upstream publishes as a release candidate, so it is not described as production-stable. Read the upstream release notes and test your billing flows before relying on it for live invoicing. Revenue insights are marked coming soon upstream.
The dashboard calls the API directly from your browser, and the REST API serves API keys, invoice downloads and payment-provider webhooks. The web app, the API and the REST API each get their own HTTPS domain. Choose them before you integrate.
No. Email stays off until you set MAILER_SMTP_HOST. Setting it also turns on email confirmation for new accounts, so test your SMTP settings first, or you could lock new users out. You can limit who registers with DOMAINS_WHITELIST before the first account.
The four volumes, meteroid_pg_data, meteroid_clickhouse_data, meteroid_redpanda_data and meteroid_object_store, plus the stable JWT_SECRET and SECRETS_CRYPT_KEY values. Changing JWT_SECRET signs everyone out. Copy them off the server, keep the secrets private, and test a restore on a spare server before you depend on it.
Nothing is upgraded for you: the install stays on pinned release 1.0.0-rc7 until you adopt a newer template version. Back up all four volumes first, read the upstream release notes, then check sign-in and an existing invoice afterwards.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
