Is FOSSBilling free?

Yes — it is free and open source under the Apache License 2.0. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the application itself.

Is FOSSBilling 0.8.5 stable?

Be aware that FOSSBilling 0.8.x is labelled beta software by the upstream project itself. This template deploys it pinned by immutable digest, but you should review upstream release and migration notes carefully before any version change, and keep a tested backup of both volumes beforehand.

Can I self-host FOSSBilling?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the official FOSSBilling 0.8.5 image alongside MariaDB 11.4.7, both pinned by immutable digest, mounts its two persistent volumes, and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in about five minutes instead of assembled by hand.

How do I create the first administrator?

Through FOSSBilling's own browser installer, not a generated credential from xCloud. Open your HTTPS URL, and when the installer asks for a database, enter host db, port 3306, and the database name, user and password generated in your xCloud credential panel. The installer then lets you set the administrator account yourself.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The FOSSBilling URL, a private MariaDB service with a generated database name, user and password, both persistent volumes, the domain and the HTTPS route. Only the FOSSBilling web interface is published through xCloud-managed HTTPS — MariaDB stays private.

What should I back up?

fossbilling_app and fossbilling_db together, from the same point in time. The app volume holds generated configuration, uploads, logs, cache and application-managed files; the db volume holds the MariaDB data. Restoring only one can leave the deployment inconsistent — keep off-server copies and test-restore them, and avoid running docker compose down -v during routine maintenance.

Backups in xCloud

Does xCloud automatically back up or update FOSSBilling?

No. The template pins FOSSBilling 0.8.5 by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Because 0.8.x is upstream-labelled beta, review release and migration notes and back up both volumes before updating the pinned app version, image tag and digest together.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 1024 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 4 GB of disk as a floor. This page sells the 6 GB tier, comfortable headroom above that floor for MariaDB running alongside the application as client, order and invoice volume grows.

What survives a restart?

Everything on fossbilling_app and fossbilling_db, because both are persistent named volumes. Restarting the containers does not touch your generated configuration, uploads, logs or database records.

Is xCloud officially partnered with FOSSBilling?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the FOSSBilling project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source FOSSBilling project.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
