BudgE hosting on xCloud gives you a self-hosted envelope budgeting app for budgets, accounts and transactions, on a server you control. Deploy BudgE from the OneClick catalog and xCloud starts the pinned LinuxServer.io image, generates the JWT secret, mounts a config volume that holds the SQLite database and publishes it over HTTPS. Registration is open until you close it, and upstream calls BudgE alpha software, so evaluate it before relying on it.
BudgE, pronounced budgie, is an open source budgeting-with-envelopes personal finance app. Its README lists multi-user support, envelope budgeting with monthly rollover, transaction management, bank and credit card account management with payment handling, tracking accounts, export of transactions and CSV import. Self-hosted BudgE is a self-hosted envelope budgeting app, a free alternative to YNAB-style tools. Upstream warns it is still under active development and is considered alpha. It is licensed under GPL-3.0.
On xCloud this template deploys BudgE 0.0.9 as the LinuxServer.io image, pinned by digest, behind HTTPS on your domain. The budge_config volume holds the SQLite database and logs. There is no administrator role: every registered user gets private budgets. Goals, reports, payee management and multiple budgets per user are planned upstream, not shipped, and there is no bank syncing.
A BudgE setup normally means a container, a signing secret, a data volume, a domain and a certificate before you can assign your first envelope. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account, pick BudgE from the OneClick catalog and choose your domain and target server. There are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the LinuxServer.io BudgE container, pinned by immutable digest, as a single service with nothing else to run beside it, generate a 64-character JWT signing secret, mount the budge_config volume that holds the SQLite database and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS BudgE URL and register your own account right away; there is no default admin. Then set REGISTRATION_DISABLED=true in the Environment editor and Save & Redeploy to close public sign-up, and start assigning money to envelopes.
BudgE 0.0.9 runs here as upstream ships it: an envelope-budgeting app you own, with its database on a volume you control.
Assign money to envelopes with monthly rollover, in the style of Aspire Budgeting, budgetzero and Buckets.
Keep standard bank accounts, credit cards with payment handling and tracking accounts in one place.
Import transactions from a CSV file and export an account's transactions when you need them elsewhere.
Each registered user gets their own private set of budgets, so a household can share one instance.
Sessions are signed with a generated 64-character JWT secret rather than an upstream default.
Accounts, budgets, payees, transactions and balances live in budge.db on the budge_config volume and survive an xCloud Restart.
Managed hosting for BudgE, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
A household assigns each month's money to envelopes, rolls what is left over into the next month, and keeps the SQLite database on a server they rent.
A user exports transactions from their bank as CSV and imports them into an account in the browser, instead of typing each one, noting that very large files may hit the JSON body limit.
Several people register their own accounts on one instance, and each gets a separate, private set of budgets, with no shared owner or household administrator.
A user keeps bank accounts, credit cards with payment handling and tracking-only accounts together, so balances and envelopes reflect the whole picture.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Yes. BudgE is open source under GPL-3.0, with the licence file linked from this page at the pinned 0.0.9 tag. xCloud bills for the Cloud VPS under it, not for BudgE, and the software adds no per-user fee. Packaging comes from LinuxServer.io, and there is no paid tier.
Yes, and this BudgE Docker hosting template does it for you: the LinuxServer.io lscr.io/linuxserver/budge image, pinned by digest and built for amd64 and arm64, runs as one container on your own server, not in a BudgE cloud account, with HTTPS in front of port 80.
BudgE's manifest floor is 1024 MB RAM, one CPU core and 5 GB disk, and the data is a small SQLite file. This page sells the 6 GB tier, many times the floor. Very large CSV imports may exceed the backend's default JSON body limit.
Upstream says BudgE is under active development and considered alpha until more tests can be written. This page therefore does not call it production-stable. Keep backups, try it with a copy of your data first, and expect missing features such as goals and reports.
No. Upstream's current features are envelope budgeting, transaction management, account management and CSV import; goals, reports and payee management are planned, and bank syncing is not listed. You add transactions by hand or import a CSV file read in the browser.
Yes. Upstream lists CSV transaction import, and the template notes that files are read in the browser and imported as JSON requests, so unusually large imports may exceed the backend's default body limit. Split a big file into pieces if an import fails, and check balances afterwards.
Yes, with limits. Upstream lists multi-user support, and every registered user gets a separate, private set of budgets. There is no administrator, owner or shared household role, and multiple budgets per user are only planned, so a couple cannot share one budget here.
Yes, until you close it. Public registration is open to anyone who can reach the site, so create your account right away, then set REGISTRATION_DISABLED=true in the Environment editor and redeploy. QA also saw unauthenticated API calls return an error and the API docs reachable, so this page claims no hardened API.
Include the whole budge_config volume in your backup: it holds the budge.db SQLite database and the logs. Stop BudgE or use an application-consistent snapshot before copying the database, keep an off-server copy, and test a restore with the same image version.
Upgrades are not automatic. The template pins BudgE 0.0.9 to an immutable image digest, and existing installs stay on it until you change it. When a newer template version is published, back up the whole budge_config volume, review the upstream release notes, then adopt that version. Never use docker compose down -v on an install that holds data.
It is a generated 64-character application secret, shown in the credentials panel, that signs sign-in tokens. Do not share it and do not change it casually, since a new value signs everyone out. Keep it with your backup so that a restored install keeps working.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
