Expensave hosting on xCloud gives you a self-hosted expense tracker for personal and family budgets, with a calendar view, shared calendars, reports and bank statement import. Deploy Expensave from the OneClick catalog and xCloud starts the pinned v1.1.4 community image with a private MariaDB 11.8 database, mounts a persistent volume and publishes it over HTTPS. The first account you register becomes the administrator.
Expensave is a free, open-source, self-hosted expense tracker for personal and family budget management, according to its README. You track spending, share calendars with family members, import bank statements and monitor your finances on your own server. The template README lists a calendar view, multiple accounts and calendars, categories and reports. Self-hosted Expensave is an expense tracker you run yourself instead of a budgeting app's cloud. It is licensed under GPL-3.0.
On xCloud this template deploys Expensave v1.1.4 as a community-published image, pinned by digest, with a private MariaDB 11.8.3 database. All application data sits on the expensave_db volume. Registration is open and the first registered account becomes the administrator, so register right away. Statement imports are limited to about 2 MB, and password-reset email needs SMTP that you configure.
Self-hosting an expense tracker normally means a container, a private database, a domain and a certificate before you can log a single expense. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Expensave from the OneClick catalog. Enter a domain — the template needs no other app-specific fields.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned Expensave v1.1.4 image alongside a private MariaDB database, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain. First start takes one to two minutes to create the database.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS Expensave URL and register right away — the first account becomes the administrator. Then set REGISTRATION_DISABLED=yes in the Environment editor and redeploy to close further sign-ups, and start your first calendar entries.
Expensave runs in full here — calendars, recurring expenses, statement import and reports, on infrastructure you control.
Each user sees only their own data, even though everyone shares the same instance.
Shared and unlimited expense calendars for family members, so spending can be tracked together.
Set up recurring expenses on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly schedules instead of re-entering them.
Import OFX/QFX, ISO 20022 XML, Revolut and Dollarbird statements, then review spending reports built from them.
Install Expensave as a Progressive Web App with a responsive interface for logging expenses on the go.
Expense data lives on a server you control instead of a third-party budgeting account.
Managed hosting for Expensave, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Family members add expenses to shared calendars and see spending laid out by day, instead of reconciling separate spreadsheets.
You upload a statement file of up to about 2 MB and turn its lines into tracked expenses, rather than typing each one in.
You open the reports to see where the money went over a period, covering spending and income habits, and adjust the next month's habits.
A household that does not want its spending history held by a budgeting service keeps it in a private MariaDB volume it controls.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. Expensave is open source under GPL-3.0, and the file is linked here at the pinned v1.1.4 tag. xCloud bills for the Cloud VPS under it, not for Expensave, and there is no per-user fee. The image used here is a community build rather than an upstream-official one.
Yes, and this Expensave Docker hosting template does it for you: the community algirdasc/expensave image, pinned by digest, runs beside a private MariaDB container on your own server, with HTTPS in front of port 18000. It is not an Expensave cloud account, so your data stays with you.
The manifest minimum for Expensave is 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk for the app and MariaDB. One container runs the web server, queue worker and hourly jobs. The 6 GB tier sold here leaves a lot of spare capacity.
Open your HTTPS address and register an account right away. Registration is open and the first account registered becomes the administrator, who can manage users in the app. Then set REGISTRATION_DISABLED=yes in the Environment editor and redeploy to stop further sign-ups.
No. Expensave has no network-level access control of its own, so anyone who reaches the site can register until you close sign-ups. Each user sees only their own data once registered. If the instance should not be public, add Basic Authentication at the access layer.
Yes. Upstream describes sharing calendars with family members, and each person registers their own account. Each user sees only their own data unless a calendar is shared with them. The administrator can manage users in the app, so close public sign-up once everyone has joined.
Yes. Statement imports are limited to about 2 MB, which is PHP's default upload size, and the proxy limit is set to match. Split larger statements into smaller files before importing. Upstream lists OFX/QFX, ISO 20022 XML, Revolut and Dollarbird formats, so test an import first.
Yes, if you want reset emails. MAILER_DSN and MAILER_FROM are unset by default, so reset emails are not delivered until you configure them in the Environment editor and redeploy. Until then, keep the administrator password somewhere safe, since email cannot recover it.
Back up the expensave_db volume, or take a logical dump with mariadb-dump from the database container, and keep an off-server copy. All application data lives in the database. Recreating the app container only signs users out. Test a restore before you rely on it.
A running v1.1.4 install is untouched by catalog updates, and a newer template version is something you adopt on your schedule. Back up the database volume first and read the upstream release notes, since migrations run on start. Then confirm you can still sign in and open a calendar.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
