NextChat hosting on xCloud lets you deploy NextChat as a private AI chat workspace on a server you own. xCloud runs the pinned v2.16.1 image, generates a 24-character access code so visitors cannot spend your provider keys, and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes. Bring your own OpenAI, Gemini or Claude keys. There is no database to manage, because chat history stays in each visitor's browser.
NextChat, also published as ChatGPT-Next-Web, is a light and fast AI assistant client: a browser chat interface for OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek and other providers, plus self-hosted LLMs. A self-hosted NextChat is an alternative to the hosted ChatGPT web app, with Markdown, LaTeX, Mermaid and code rendering, prompt templates called masks, streaming responses and dark mode. Conversations are stored in the browser, and the code is MIT licensed.
On xCloud it is NextChat v2.16.1 as the upstream image pinned by digest, a single container with no database and no sidecar. xCloud generates a 24-character access code at install and publishes the app over HTTPS on your domain. You can set an OpenAI key at install, or visitors add a provider key in Settings. The server keeps no chat data, so there is no volume to restore.
Self-hosting NextChat normally means a container, a generated access code, provider keys, a domain and a certificate before the first message. This is the same result without assembling any of it by hand.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick NextChat from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain and optionally enter an OpenAI API key, or leave it blank to add one later.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned NextChat v2.16.1 image, bind the container port to loopback, generate a 24-character access code, and publish the app over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS NextChat URL and enter the generated access code from your xCloud credentials. Add a provider key if you did not supply one, then start a chat.
NextChat runs in full here — the multi-provider chat UI, Markdown, LaTeX and code rendering, on infrastructure you control.
A single chat interface for OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek and more, using your own provider keys.
Conversations and settings are stored locally in the visitor's browser, never on the server.
A generated shared access code gates the UI's API so visitors cannot spend your server-side provider keys.
Markdown, LaTeX, mermaid diagrams and code highlighting render natively, alongside prompt templates (masks), dark mode and PWA support.
No database and no sidecar services — just one container to deploy, patch and restart.
The access code still works after an xCloud Restart; the server stores no chat data, and conversations in the browser remain untouched.
Managed hosting for NextChat, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Share a single HTTPS address on your own domain with colleagues. They enter the access code and chat against the provider keys you set, without each person needing a separate account.
Use one chat UI for OpenAI, Gemini, Claude or DeepSeek, switching providers with your own keys instead of keeping a separate tab and login open for each service.
Let writers and researchers talk to models while conversations and settings stay in their own browser storage, not in a database on your server that you would have to secure and restore.
Build prompt templates called masks for recurring jobs, such as editing or translating, so everyone starts a chat from the same tested instructions.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

The template floor is 256 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk. NextChat is one container with no database, and model inference runs at your provider, so the 6 GB plan leaves ample headroom for concurrent chat traffic.
Yes, and this template is nextchat docker hosting without the setup: the yidadaa/chatgpt-next-web image pinned by digest, a generated access code, the container port bound to loopback and HTTPS on your own domain, with no extra services.
Upstream lists OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, SiliconFlow and several Chinese providers, plus self-hosted LLMs. You supply the keys: an OpenAI key at install, or any provider key in Settings or the environment.
No. Conversations and settings live in the visitor's browser storage, not on the server, so a server backup or a container rollback does not capture or restore them. Export conversations from the browser if you want a copy.
xCloud generates a 24-character access code at install and shows it in your credentials. To change it or a provider key, edit the Environment editor and redeploy: both are read at start, so a change made only in the UI does not persist.
Yes. NextChat is open source under the MIT licence, so the software has no licence fee. You pay your model provider for usage and xCloud for the dedicated Cloud VPS, which makes it a NextChat cloud of your own.
There is no application volume to back up, because chats are browser-local. Keep a private copy of your environment values, meaning the access code and provider keys, and export conversations from the browser when you need them.
The install stays on its pinned v2.16.1 image until you adopt a newer template version, so check the upstream release notes before moving. Because chats are browser-local, a redeploy keeps your conversations and a rollback does not change them.
Your chosen provider, using the keys you supply. NextChat relays requests to the provider you configure, and the access code stops visitors from spending your server-side keys. xCloud charges only for the server.
No. The image interpolates PROXY_URL unquoted, so the template documents it as a value not to set. Leave it unset on this install.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
