OSRM hosting on xCloud lets you deploy OSRM, a routing engine for OpenStreetMap data, as your own routing API on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned image with a sidecar that downloads the map extract you choose and builds routing data for a car, bicycle or foot profile, keeps it on a persistent volume and publishes the HTTP API over HTTPS, with no per-request fees.
OSRM, the Open Source Routing Machine, is a high-performance routing engine written in C++ and designed to run on OpenStreetMap data. Its HTTP API offers nearest, route, table, match, trip and tile services, so you can find the fastest path, build distance matrices, snap GPS traces to roads and fetch Mapbox Vector Tiles. A self-hosted OSRM is a routing API of your own, an alternative to the Google Maps Directions API. It is BSD-2-Clause licensed.
On xCloud it is OSRM v26.10.0, the official image pinned by digest, using the Multi-Level Dijkstra pipeline. You choose a .osm.pbf extract and one profile at install; a sidecar downloads it into the osrm_data volume and OSRM runs the extract, partition and customize steps. OSRM has no web page and no login, and the map data is ODbL, so credit OpenStreetMap.
A routing server normally means picking an extract, downloading it, preprocessing it for a profile, running the router, a volume, a domain and a certificate. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick OSRM from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and server, then enter the OpenStreetMap extract URL (the default is Monaco from Geofabrik) and a routing profile: car, bicycle or foot.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official OSRM image, pinned by immutable digest, with a small download sidecar (no published ports) that fetches your extract, builds the routing data into the osrm_data volume and publish the API on container port 5000 over HTTPS. The first start takes about a minute for a city or small country, longer for large regions.
Step 03
There is no sign-in and no web page. Call the API directly, for example /route/v1/driving/7.4166,43.7311;7.4276,43.7396?overview=false on your domain, and read the route back as JSON.
OSRM runs in full here: the routing API for an OpenStreetMap region of your choice, on a server you own.
The route API returns the fastest route between coordinates, so your application asks your own server rather than a metered third-party service.
The table API returns distance and duration matrices between many points, useful for delivery and dispatch planning.
The match API snaps noisy GPS traces to roads, and the trip API solves the ordering of multi-stop journeys.
Look up the nearest road to a coordinate, or request Mapbox Vector Tiles that carry routing metadata.
Choose any OpenStreetMap extract, for example from Geofabrik, and a car, bicycle or foot profile at install time.
The downloaded extract and the built routing data sit on the osrm_data volume and survive an xCloud Restart without being rebuilt.
Managed hosting for OSRM, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Call the route service from your product to get the fastest path and distance between coordinates, without sending every request to a paid mapping API.
Use the table service to get duration and distance matrices between many points, so a dispatcher or planner compares options on a server you control.
Feed recorded GPS points to the match service to turn a noisy trace into the roads actually driven, for fleet reports or ride histories.
Load a single city or country extract and one travel profile, so a local service gets fast answers from data that fits comfortably on one Cloud VPS.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

The template floor is 1024 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 5 GB of disk, which covers a city-size extract. Building routing data needs far more memory than serving it, so a large country calls for a bigger plan; the --mmap option lowers memory only while serving.
Yes, and this template is osrm docker hosting without the setup: the official osrm-backend image pinned by digest, a sidecar that fetches your chosen extract, the osrm_data volume and HTTPS on your own domain, with the Multi-Level Dijkstra pipeline.
Upstream lists nearest, route, table, match, trip and tile services over HTTP. OSRM has no web page of its own, so you call it from your application. The profile in a URL is informational: the data was built for one profile.
The API answers only after the extract is downloaded and the routing data is built. Expect about a minute for a city or small country, tens of minutes for a large country, and hours for a continent-size extract; requests fail until then.
Yes. There is no login, and every response allows cross-origin requests from any site, so anyone with the address can use your server's CPU. Put Basic Auth or an IP allowlist in front of the domain yourself if it should be private.
Yes. OSRM is BSD-2-Clause licensed, so the engine itself is free. The Cloud VPS is your only cost, giving you an OSRM cloud install of your own. The OpenStreetMap data is ODbL, so credit its contributors.
Edit OSRM_PBF_URL or OSRM_PROFILE in the Environment editor and redeploy. The container downloads the new extract and rebuilds the routing data from scratch, and the API is unavailable until it finishes. Unchanged settings reuse the existing data.
The osrm_data volume holds the downloaded extract and the built routing data, and both can be re-created from the extract URL. There is nothing else to back up, so keep a note of your URL and profile.
The install stays on its pinned v26.10.0 image until you adopt a newer template version. Read the upstream release notes first. A new version may need the routing data rebuilt, so expect the API to be unavailable while that runs.
For routing on OpenStreetMap data, it can be. You run the engine yourself, so there are no per-request fees from xCloud, but you supply the region extract and the capacity. Upstream publishes no comparison with commercial APIs.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
