Rivet hosting on xCloud lets you deploy Rivet, an open-source engine for stateful serverless actors with durable state, realtime WebSockets and scheduling, on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned engine image as a single container, generates the admin token, keeps its data on a persistent volume and publishes the API, dashboard and actor connections over HTTPS. Your own RivetKit app defines the actors.
Rivet is an open-source orchestrator for stateful and agentic workloads whose core unit is the Actor: a long-lived process with durable state, addressed by key. Actors keep a SQLite database or filesystem, hibernate when idle and wake on demand, and are reachable over HTTP and WebSocket, with scheduled wake-ups and automatic rescheduling if a worker fails. A self-hosted Rivet is a stateful actor engine on your own server. It is Apache-2.0 licensed.
On xCloud it is Rivet 2.3.27, the official engine image pinned by digest, as a single container with an embedded filesystem database in the rivet_data volume. It installs the engine only: a fresh install is an empty dashboard until your RivetKit application connects with the generated admin token and a namespace. There is no user registration.
A Rivet engine normally means a container, an admin token, a data volume, a reverse proxy that passes WebSocket upgrades, a domain and a certificate before the first actor connects. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Rivet from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We start the official Rivet engine image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with its embedded database, mount the rivet_data volume, generate the admin token and publish port 6420 over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Save the Admin Token from the installation credentials, open your HTTPS address at /ui/ and paste the token when asked. Create a namespace, then point your RivetKit application at the engine URL with the admin token.
The Rivet engine runs in full here: durable actor state, realtime routing and a dashboard, behind your own domain and one admin token.
The engine keeps each actor's state in its embedded database on the rivet_data volume, so namespaces and actor data survive an xCloud Restart.
HTTP and WebSocket traffic to your actors goes through the same HTTPS address and port as the dashboard.
Upstream describes the engine as scheduling work for your actors alongside holding their state and routing their traffic.
Open /ui/ to manage namespaces, runners and actors from the browser after entering the admin token.
A generated 40-character token authorises every request; calls without it or with a wrong token are rejected with 401, and there is no open registration.
Actors are defined by your own RivetKit application, which connects to the engine URL with a namespace and the admin token.
Managed hosting for Rivet, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Address a long-lived actor by key, so a chat room, a game session or a document keeps its state in one place and answers over HTTP or WebSocket.
Let browsers hold WebSocket connections to actors through the same HTTPS address, so updates reach connected clients without you running a separate realtime server.
Use scheduled wake-ups so an actor does its own recurring job and sleeps in between, instead of keeping a worker process busy all day.
Store actor state in your own volume rather than a vendor's edge network, so an application's session and agent state stays on infrastructure you control.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

The template floor is 128 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk, because the engine is one container with an embedded database. The 6 GB plan is far above that and leaves room for your own application beside it.
Yes, and this template is rivet docker hosting without the setup: the official rivetdev/engine image pinned by digest, the rivet_data volume, a generated admin token and HTTPS on your own domain. Only port 6420 is published.
Point your RivetKit application at your HTTPS address with the admin token and a namespace. WebSocket upgrades use the same address as the dashboard. The engine holds no application code, so actors appear only once your app connects.
Partly. The dashboard page at /ui/ loads without a login, but every data request needs the admin token, and there is no user registration. Add Basic Auth yourself for an extra gate, allowing your apps to reach the API.
Yes. Rivet is open source under the Apache-2.0 licence, so the engine has no licence fee. You pay only for the Cloud VPS, which makes this a Rivet cloud install of your own, separate from the hosted Rivet Cloud.
Upstream positions it as an open-source alternative that is easy to self-host, with actors running on plain Node.js or Bun and durable scheduling built in. You host the engine yourself, so the capacity, updates and backups are yours to run.
Back up the rivet_data volume, which holds the engine's database and your actors' state, and keep the admin token with it. Changing the token signs the dashboard out and every connected app needs the new one.
Rivet stays on its pinned 2.3.27 image until a newer template version is adopted. Copy rivet_data beforehand and check the release notes. Upgrades never run automatically, and redeploying keeps the volume.
The dashboard signs you out and every connected application needs the new token, since the same token authorises the whole API. Actor data in the rivet_data volume is not affected by editing it in the Environment editor.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
