Deploy Sure hosting and run a self-hosted personal finance app for your accounts, budgets and net worth on a dedicated Cloud VPS. xCloud starts the pinned Sure 0.7.3 image as a web container and a background worker, with private PostgreSQL and Redis, generates the encryption secrets, keeps your data on persistent volumes and serves the app over HTTPS on your own domain.
Sure is a personal finance app for accounts, transactions, budgets, investments and net worth. It is a community-maintained fork of the archived Maybe Finance project, the Maybe Finance successor, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Maybe Finance Inc. Run on your own server it is a self-hosted Sure, an alternative to a hosted budgeting service such as Mint or YNAB, under the AGPL-3.0.
On xCloud it is deployed as four containers: the ghcr.io/we-promise/sure 0.7.3 web service, a Sidekiq worker, a private PostgreSQL 16 database and a private Redis 8, all pinned by digest. The sure_storage, sure_postgres and sure_redis volumes hold the state, and the secret keys are generated. You create the first account yourself, then add accounts by hand.
A Sure install normally means a Rails web container, a Sidekiq worker, PostgreSQL, Redis, a set of encryption secrets, three volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first transaction. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Sure from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain and a server; the install form has no application fields, because xCloud generates the secret keys and database credentials.
Step 02
One click. We start ghcr.io/we-promise/sure 0.7.3 as a web container and a worker, with private postgres 16 and redis 8, all pinned by digest, mount sure_storage, sure_postgres and sure_redis, and publish HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open the registration URL straight away and create the first account, before anyone else finds the address. Then add a manual account and a transaction; no bank provider is needed to start tracking.
Sure 0.7.3 runs here as a full personal finance app, with your data and its encryption keys kept on volumes you own.
Track accounts and the transactions in them, entered by hand, so you can start without connecting any bank provider.
Set budgets and compare them with what you actually spend, in an app whose data sits in your own PostgreSQL database.
Follow investment accounts alongside cash and credit, in the same self-hosted app, rather than a separate hosted tracker.
See net worth across the accounts you add, with the history kept on your own server instead of a vendor's cloud.
A Sidekiq worker container runs background jobs beside the web container, so background jobs run outside the web requests you make.
xCloud generates the secret key base and the ActiveRecord encryption keys. Keep them unchanged, since rotating them can make encrypted data unreadable.
Managed hosting for Sure, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Keep accounts, transactions and budgets for your household in one app whose database sits on a server you control rather than a finance vendor's cloud.
Add manual accounts for cash, credit and investments and watch net worth over time, without handing bank credentials to a third party.
Set category budgets and compare them with real spending, using data you can back up as three volumes and restore on your own schedule.
Replace a finance app that closed with a maintained community fork, on infrastructure you pick and a licence that lets you keep running it.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes, and this template is Sure Docker hosting without the compose file: the 0.7.3 image as web and Sidekiq worker containers, private postgres 16 and redis 8, all pinned by digest, with three named volumes and an HTTPS route. Upstream's README documents self-hosting with Docker.
Sure is a personal finance app for tracking accounts, transactions, budgets, investments and net worth. Its README calls it a fully working personal finance app that can be self-hosted with Docker, and describes the repository as a community fork of the abandoned Maybe Finance project.
No, though it descends from it. Sure is a community fork of the now-abandoned Maybe Finance project, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Maybe Finance Inc. Upstream says forks may not use the Maybe name or logo, so this page uses it only to describe Sure's lineage.
Not out of the box. This template configures no bank-data provider, so you add accounts and transactions by hand; the post-install note suggests starting with a manual account. Any provider you add yourself needs its own account and keys.
Sure's manifest floor is 2048 MB of RAM, 2 CPU cores and 10 GB of disk, shared by the web container, worker, PostgreSQL and Redis together. This page sells the 6 GB tier, leaving headroom for a growing transaction history.
Open the Registration URL from the credentials right after install and register. No admin login is generated and onboarding starts open, so the first person to register creates the first account. Do this before you share the address with anyone.
Back up sure_storage, sure_postgres and sure_redis together before maintenance or recovery. Also keep SECRET_KEY_BASE and the ACTIVE_RECORD_ENCRYPTION values, since a restore without them leaves encrypted data unreadable. Nothing schedules the backup for you; test a restore.
Nothing updates itself: Sure 0.7.3, PostgreSQL 16 and Redis 8 are pinned by digest, so an existing install stays on them until you move it. To upgrade, back up all three volumes and the secret keys, read the release notes, then adopt a newer Sure template version when xCloud publishes one.
SECRET_KEY_BASE and the ACTIVE_RECORD_ENCRYPTION values protect encrypted application data. Rotating them can make that data unreadable, so keep them with your backups. xCloud generates them once at install, and the environment notice repeats this warning.
Yes. Sure is released under the AGPL-3.0, the licence of the Maybe Finance code it forks, so you can run and modify it. Your plan pays for the server underneath. AGPL terms apply if you offer a modified Sure to other people over a network.
It is Sure on a dedicated Cloud VPS under your xCloud login, a Sure cloud of your own at your domain, with your financial data on volumes you control. xCloud runs the server and deployment; the app, its data and its keys are yours.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
