Deploy WorkAdventure hosting and give your team a virtual office and event space on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned WorkAdventure v1.34.1 images behind one HTTPS address with map storage, uploads and Redis, generates the map storage username and password, and mounts persistent volumes. People pick a name and character, walk around a 2D map and talk by video and chat when they meet.
WorkAdventure is a platform for designing fully customizable collaborative virtual worlds. Upstream describes interacting spontaneously with colleagues, clients and partners through your own avatar, with a video chat triggered when you approach someone, for recruitment, onboarding, training, digital workplaces and events on desktop, mobile or tablet. It stresses that the platform is GDPR-friendly and open source. Self-hosted WorkAdventure is the alternative to the upstream SaaS version, under AGPL-3.0 with the Commons Clause.
On xCloud it is WorkAdventure v1.34.1, pinned by digest, as five application containers plus Redis behind one nginx router, with maps on map_storage_data. There is no sign-up and no admin account: anyone with the URL can enter, like an open meeting room. Video is peer to peer for up to four people per bubble, and the licence restricts reselling it.
A WorkAdventure stack normally means a web client, a game server, map storage, an uploader, an icon service, Redis, a router, a domain and a certificate before the first avatar walks in. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick WorkAdventure from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official WorkAdventure images, pinned by immutable digest — web client, game server, map storage, uploader, icon server and Redis — behind one nginx router, mount the map_storage_data and redis_data volumes, generate the map storage username and password, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Save the map storage username and password from the installation credentials, then open your HTTPS WorkAdventure URL, pick a name and character and walk in. When you are ready, open /map-storage/ui, upload your own map and point START_ROOM_URL at it.
WorkAdventure runs in full here: the web client, game server and map storage on your own domain, with the uploads and persistence wired up for you.
Avatars move on a 2D map, and a video chat starts when you approach someone. Video and audio are peer to peer, for up to four people per bubble.
Upload your own maps at /map-storage/ui and serve them from your server. Uploading or replacing a map needs the generated username and password.
Visitors join anonymously with a name and character. Add OpenID Connect sign-in and set DISABLE_ANONYMOUS=true to restrict who can enter.
Chat and chat file uploads are switched on, with uploads stored in Redis up to a size limit you can change in the environment editor.
The in-game map editor is enabled but limited to users listed in MAP_EDITOR_ALLOWED_USERS, which needs OpenID Connect.
Uploaded maps live on the map_storage_data volume and player variables and chat files on redis_data, and the uploaded maps were still there after a restart of all containers in QA.
Managed hosting for WorkAdventure, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Give staff an always-open 2D space where they walk up to a colleague and a video chat starts.
Open a world for a conference or open day, with different rooms on a map that your team designs.
Build a map that walks new hires through an office layout, with places to meet and talk.
Run maps, uploads and sessions on a server you control, with an optional telemetry switch off.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes. Upstream is open source and publishes container images, and this template is WorkAdventure Docker hosting already assembled: the web client, game server, map storage, uploader and icon server pinned by digest, Redis, two volumes and HTTPS. It is your own WorkAdventure cloud office.
WorkAdventure lists 1024 MB of memory, a single core and 8 GB of disk; idle use in QA was about 880 MiB across the seven containers. The 6 GB plan is where this page starts, with room for maps and uploads.
AGPL-3.0 with the Commons Clause. Running it on your own server for your own use is fine, while selling the software, or a service whose value derives substantially from it, is restricted. Read the licence file before any commercial use.
No. They pick a name and character and join; anyone with the link can enter unless you configure OpenID Connect. There is no sign-up and no admin account, so share the link only with the people you want in the world.
Yes. Anyone with the URL can enter, like an open meeting room. To restrict entry, set the OPENID_* settings in the Environment editor, set DISABLE_ANONYMOUS to true and redeploy. Basic Auth in front of the site is another option.
Only someone with the generated map storage username and password, which are required for uploads and for /map-storage/ui; a request without them is refused with a 401. The in-game editor is limited to users in MAP_EDITOR_ALLOWED_USERS, which needs OpenID Connect.
No. The default start map is loaded from workadventure.github.io until you upload your own map and set START_ROOM_URL to it, so that site must be reachable. Switching to your own uploaded map removes that external dependency.
Peer to peer, for up to four people per bubble. Users behind strict NAT need a STUN or TURN server, and larger bubbles need a LiveKit server. Both are separate servers you run yourself and are not part of this template.
The game server sends the WorkAdventure version and rough usage numbers to the upstream stats service once a day unless telemetry is disabled. Uncomment ENABLE_TELEMETRY=false in the Environment editor and redeploy to turn it off.
Back up map_storage_data and redis_data, plus the stable environment values: the secret key, map storage token and credentials. Maps are the part you cannot recreate easily. Stop the stack for a consistent copy, and test a restore on a spare install.
The install stays on pinned v1.34.1 until you adopt a newer template version. Back up both volumes, study upstream's release notes, then redeploy and open the world and a map. Existing sites are never upgraded automatically.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
