What is Yamtrack?

Yamtrack is a self-hosted media tracker for movies, TV shows, anime, manga, video games, books, comics and board games. Upstream lists tracking each season and episode, scores, statuses, progress and rewatches, a tracking history, custom entries, shared lists, a calendar with an iCalendar feed, Apprise notifications, multi-user accounts, OIDC sign-in, and imports from Trakt, Simkl, MyAnimeList, AniList and Kitsu. Self-hosted Yamtrack is the alternative to a hosted tracking service, under the AGPL-3.0 licence.

On xCloud it is Yamtrack 0.26.3 with Redis 8, both pinned by digest, on the yamtrack_data volume, which holds the SQLite database, and yamtrack_redis. Nothing is pre-created: you register the first account yourself. Public registration stays open until you set REGISTRATION to false in the Environment editor and restart. The only install field is the timezone.

Can you self-host Yamtrack with Docker?

Yes. Upstream deploys with docker-compose, using SQLite or PostgreSQL, and this template is Yamtrack Docker hosting already assembled: the 0.26.3 image and Redis pinned by digest, two volumes, a generated signing secret and HTTPS. It is your own Yamtrack cloud tracker.

How much RAM does Yamtrack need?

Yamtrack lists 1024 MB RAM, a single vCPU and 10 GB of storage for Yamtrack alongside Redis. This page begins at the 6 GB plan, with room for imports and metadata. Imports from other trackers are the busiest moments.

Is Yamtrack free?

Yes, AGPL-3.0 open source with no software fee. Hosting is billed as the dedicated Cloud VPS, cancellable any time. Your library stays in a SQLite file on a volume you control. Exports to CSV keep your history portable.

Which media types can Yamtrack track?

Upstream lists movies, TV shows, anime, manga, video games, books, comics and board games, with custom entries for niche media the supported APIs cannot find. Metadata comes from those APIs; upstream ships default keys and recommends your own for some, set as environment variables.

How do I sign in to Yamtrack for the first time?

There is no xCloud-generated account. Open your HTTPS URL after installation and register the first account yourself through Yamtrack's own signup screen. That account is the one you sign in with, so do it promptly, before anyone else can register.

Is Yamtrack public registration open by default?

Yes, until you turn it off. Yamtrack lets anyone register through its signup flow. Immediately after creating your own account, set REGISTRATION to false in the Environment editor and restart the app, unless you intend to let other people create accounts.

Can Yamtrack import from Trakt or MyAnimeList?

Yes. Upstream lists imports from Trakt, Simkl, MyAnimeList, AniList and Kitsu, with support for periodic automatic imports, and a CSV export you can import back. Upstream's import guide lists the credentials each source uses, such as a Trakt client ID.

Does Yamtrack work with Jellyfin, Plex and Emby?

Upstream lists integration with Jellyfin, Plex and Emby to automatically track new media you watch. Set each up inside Yamtrack with your server's address and credentials. The template configures none of them, so a fresh install tracks only what you add or import.

Can I change my Yamtrack domain later?

Yes, but treat it as a real reconfiguration, not a rename. The installation domain feeds Yamtrack's configured URLs, so update anywhere the old link was shared, such as calendar subscriptions, before switching. Keep the generated signing secret stable.

How do I back up Yamtrack?

Back up yamtrack_data and yamtrack_redis together, from the same point in time. The first holds the SQLite database at /yamtrack/db with your accounts and media history, and the second holds Redis-backed cache and queue state. Stop the stack for a consistent copy.

How do I upgrade Yamtrack?

The install stays on pinned 0.26.3 and Redis 8 until you adopt a newer template version. Stop the stack, back up both volumes, review upstream's release notes, then redeploy and open your library. Existing sites are never upgraded automatically.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
