YTPTube Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy YTPTube on xCloud and get YTPTube hosting to queue single URLs, playlists, channels and live streams from a browser instead of the command line. xCloud runs the pinned official image as one container, generates the admin login, mounts persistent volumes for configuration and downloads, and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes. Only download content you are permitted to keep.

What is YTPTube?

YTPTube is a self-hosted download manager, automation interface and media library preparation layer for yt-dlp. A self-hosted YTPTube handles one-off downloads, recurring sources, metadata-based rules and concurrent queues from one web interface. Upstream lists Tasks that check channels and playlists on a schedule, Presets that store reusable yt-dlp options and output templates, Conditions and a built-in file browser and player. It is released under the MIT licence.

On xCloud the install runs v2.7.4 of the official image, pinned by digest, as one container with its own PO-token helper. Two volumes hold ytptube_config for the database, settings and presets and ytptube_downloads for media. xCloud generates the admin password. Every signed-in user has full access and can pass custom yt-dlp options, so share the login only with people you trust.

From Sign-Up to a Live YTPTube In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting yt-dlp as a service normally means scripting the command line, wiring up a web front end and a reverse proxy before you can queue a single download. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick YTPTube from the OneClick catalog. There are no extra fields — xCloud generates the admin credentials for you.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We provision the server, bring up the pinned YTPTube v2.7.4 container, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Start Using It

Sign in as admin with the generated password from your installation credentials, then paste a URL into the add-download form to start your first download.

Everything YTPTube Does, On Your Own Server

YTPTube runs in full here — the open-source project is complete, and your download history and media sit on infrastructure you control.

  • Queue Anything yt-dlp Supports

Single URLs, playlists, channels and live streams, queued from a web UI with live progress over WebSocket.

  • Scheduled Tasks And Presets

Recurring sources run on Scheduled Tasks, and reusable Presets carry your yt-dlp options and output templates between downloads.

  • Built-In File Browser And Player

Browse and play finished downloads straight from the interface, with a history of everything that has completed.

  • HTTP API For Automation

An HTTP API, a bookmarklet and iOS Shortcuts let you queue downloads from your own scripts and devices, not just the browser.

  • Concurrency You Control

Global and per-site concurrent-download limits keep one source from starving the rest of your queue.

  • Backed By Persistent Volumes

Config, history and downloaded files live on persistent volumes and were verified to survive an xCloud Restart.

Everything You Need To Run Your Download Manager 24/7

Managed hosting for YTPTube, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Queue playlists, channels and streams
  • Scheduled Tasks and Presets
  • Admin account bootstrapped for you
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots

What You Can Do With YTPTube

  • Queue downloads from a browser

Add single URLs, playlists, channels and live streams from a web UI with live progress, instead of running yt-dlp by hand.

  • Check sources on a schedule

Use Tasks to check channels and playlists on a schedule so new uploads arrive without you opening the app.

  • Reuse your yt-dlp options

Keep yt-dlp options, output templates and paths in Presets, and carry them between downloads.

  • Script it

Use the HTTP API to queue downloads from your own scripts and tools, not only from the browser.

YTPTube vs Alternatives

Command-line yt-dlp
Running yt-dlp by hand works for one download at a time. YTPTube wraps it in a queue with tasks, presets, history, a file browser and a player, reached from a browser.
MeTube
In a YTPTube vs MeTube comparison, MeTube has its own OneClick page. Its catalogue entry describes a web UI for yt-dlp that downloads video and audio to your server, with playlists.
ytdl-sub
ytdl-sub has its own OneClick page. It drives yt-dlp from a subscriptions file with presets that organise downloads for Plex, Jellyfin and Kodi, edited in a browser editor.
YoutubeDL-Material
YoutubeDL-Material has its own OneClick page. It is a Material Design web app on yt-dlp with a built-in player, playlists and subscriptions.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo Villa
Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Can you self-host YTPTube with Docker?

Yes, and this template is YTPTube Docker hosting without the setup: the pinned ghcr.io arabcoders/ytptube v2.7.4 image as one container, with its PO-token helper bundled, two named volumes, a generated admin password and HTTPS on your domain.

How much RAM does YTPTube need?

The floor is one core, 512 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk, and disk needs grow with your library. The 6 GB plan is the entry rung here, with headroom for concurrent downloads.

How do I sign in to YTPTube?

Use the username admin and the generated 24-character password from the installation credentials. Those values only create the first account on first boot, so to change the password later you run the reset-password script inside the container.

Can others download my YTPTube files without logging in?

Only someone who knows an exact file name can fetch that file; listing the library still requires login. Treat the library accordingly, and avoid putting anything sensitive in file names that others could guess, since the library listing is the only part that needs a login.

Is it safe to share YTPTube with multiple people?

Every signed-in user can pass custom yt-dlp options, which can run commands inside the container, and can view and delete every file. Share the login only with people you trust, and treat it like an administrator credential.

Does YTPTube always use the latest yt-dlp?

By default the container pulls the newest yt-dlp on each start, which needs outbound internet and means two installs started on different days can differ. Set a yt-dlp version in the environment if you want to pin it instead.

What should I back up on a YTPTube server?

Back up both volumes: ytptube_config for the database, settings and presets, and ytptube_downloads for the media. Copy them while the container is stopped, and expect the downloads volume to be large, so copy it separately from the small config volume.

How do I upgrade YTPTube?

v2.7.4 remains pinned until you take a newer template version, while yt-dlp updates itself on each start. Copy both volumes and skim the project's notes beforehand. No running site is upgraded on its own, and the config and downloads volumes survive a redeploy.

Is YTPTube free?

Yes. YTPTube is MIT licensed, so the code is free to run. Only download content you are permitted to download; YTPTube manages downloads and is not a licence to disregard the terms of the sites or the content.

Can YTPTube schedule recurring downloads?

Yes. Upstream lists Tasks that check channels, playlists, feeds and supported custom sources on a schedule, with Presets for options and Conditions that act on metadata. Set them up inside the app after you sign in.

Is there a YTPTube cloud service?

Not through this page. YTPTube cloud hosting here means your own download manager runs on a Cloud VPS that xCloud prepares, with the library and settings on volumes you own, behind a generated login and with no vendor account involved.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
