Checkmate Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy Checkmate hosting and watch your sites and services from your own server, with incident history and public status pages. xCloud runs the pinned Checkmate v3.12.0 image beside a private MongoDB 8.0 container, generates the session secret, mounts a persistent volume for your monitors and history, and publishes the app over HTTPS in minutes — your monitoring data stays on your server, not in a third-party SaaS.

What is Checkmate?

Checkmate is an open-source, self-hosted uptime and infrastructure monitor from Bluewave Labs. It checks websites and services on a schedule, records response times, opens and resolves incidents, and can publish public status pages for your users.

Users, monitors and check history live in a MongoDB database that you run yourself. It is licensed under AGPL-3.0.

From Sign-Up to a Live Monitor In Just 3 Easy Steps

A Checkmate stack normally means an API container, a MongoDB database, a session secret, a volume, a domain and a certificate before the first check runs. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Checkmate from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official Checkmate image and a private MongoDB 8.0 container with no published ports, both pinned by immutable digest, mount the mongo_data volume, generate the session secret (JWT_SECRET) and publish the app over HTTPS. First boot takes about a minute.

  3. Step 03

    Register And Add A Monitor

Open your HTTPS Checkmate URL and register straight away — the first account becomes the superadmin and later sign-ups need an invite from it. Then create your first monitor with the short wizard.

Everything Checkmate Does, On Your Own Server

Checkmate runs in full here: monitors, incidents and status pages on your own domain, backed by a MongoDB database you own.

  • Many Kinds Of Monitor

Upstream supports HTTP checks with SSL expiry, ping, port, DNS, Docker, gRPC, WebSocket and game-server monitors, plus page-speed monitoring.

  • Incident Tracking

Incidents open and resolve as monitors go down and recover, with a history kept for each monitor.

  • Public Status Pages

Publish a status page for your users; upstream ships five themes. Pages are served on the same host as the app.

  • Alerts In Your Channels

Send notifications through email, webhooks, Discord, Slack, PagerDuty, Microsoft Teams and Telegram, configured inside Checkmate after you sign in.

  • First Account Is The Superadmin

There is no preset password. The first account registered becomes the superadmin, and later sign-ups need an invite from it.

  • Private MongoDB Included

MongoDB 8.0 holds users, monitors and check history on the mongo_data volume, reachable only inside the install's private network.

Everything You Need To Run Your Uptime Monitor 24/7

Managed hosting for Checkmate, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Checkmate v3.12.0 deployed instantly
  • Official images pinned by digest
  • Session secret generated for you
  • Private MongoDB, no published ports
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Checkmate

  • Watch your sites and APIs

Keep an eye on website and service uptime and response times from your own infrastructure, including SSL certificate expiry on HTTP checks.

  • Cover more than websites

Monitor ports, DNS, Docker containers, gRPC and WebSocket endpoints and game servers alongside plain HTTP checks.

  • Tell users what is happening

Publish a public status page so customers can see current status without asking your support team.

  • Get alerted where your team already works

Route alerts to email, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, PagerDuty or a webhook so downtime reaches the right people.

  • Keep monitoring data in-house

Hold users, monitors and history in MongoDB on a server you control instead of a third-party monitoring SaaS.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo Villa
Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What does Checkmate monitor?

Per upstream, HTTP (with SSL expiry), ping, port, DNS, Docker, gRPC, WebSocket and game servers, plus page-speed monitoring.

How do I sign in the first time?

There is no preset password. Open the site and register; the first account becomes the superadmin and later sign-ups need an invite from it. Register right away after the site comes up.

What runs alongside Checkmate?

A private MongoDB 8.0 container with no published ports. Checkmate itself is stateless; users, monitors and history are stored in MongoDB.

Can I publish a status page?

Yes. Status pages are served on the same host as the app. Extra custom domains for status pages are not part of this baseline.

How do I set up alerts?

After signing in, configure notification channels inside Checkmate, such as email, webhooks, Discord, Slack, PagerDuty, Microsoft Teams or Telegram. SMTP and notification settings are stored in Checkmate, not in environment variables.

What should I back up?

The mongo_data volume, and the generated JWT_SECRET in the site environment file. Back up before any upgrade.

What happens if I change JWT_SECRET?

JWT_SECRET is read on every container start. Change it in the site environment file and redeploy; existing sessions are then signed out.

Can Checkmate monitor Docker containers on my other servers?

Remote Docker monitors over TLS need an optional ENCRYPTION_KEY. Access to the host's Docker socket is not included in this template.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Checkmate?

No. The template pins Checkmate v3.12.0 and MongoDB 8.0 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release and existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 1024 MB of RAM and 4 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 260 MiB for both containers combined. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

What survives a restart?

Data on the mongo_data volume. After both containers were restarted in QA the app came back healthy and a monitor created before the restart was still there.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Checkmate?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Checkmate project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Checkmate project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
