What is Uptime Kuma?

Uptime Kuma is an easy-to-use self-hosted monitoring tool, and a self-hosted Uptime Kuma can watch HTTP(S), TCP, keyword, JSON query, WebSocket, ping, DNS, push and Docker container checks, as an alternative to a hosted service such as UptimeRobot. Upstream lists 20-second intervals, notifications through more than 90 services, multiple status pages that map to specific domains, certificate info and 2FA. It is released under the MIT licence.

On xCloud the install runs Uptime Kuma 2.5.0 from the official image, pinned by digest, as one container with its built-in SQLite database. The uptime_kuma_data volume holds the database, monitor history, status pages and notification configuration. xCloud creates no account: you complete Uptime Kuma's own first-run setup. Docker-socket monitoring is deliberately excluded from this template.

Can you self-host Uptime Kuma with Docker?

Yes, and this template is Uptime Kuma Docker hosting without the setup. Upstream installs with Docker Compose; here xCloud runs the pinned louislam/uptime-kuma 2.5.0 image as one container, mounts uptime_kuma_data and publishes HTTPS and the WebSocket traffic on your domain.

How much RAM does Uptime Kuma need?

The template asks for 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk as a floor. The 6 GB plan is the entry rung here. Retention length, monitor count, check frequency and notification volume all increase storage and memory use.

How do I create the Uptime Kuma admin account?

xCloud generates no app credentials. Open your HTTPS URL straight after install and complete Uptime Kuma's own first-run setup to create the administrator, because until then anyone reaching the URL could create it. Then add a harmless HTTP monitor to confirm checks run.

Does xCloud configure Uptime Kuma notifications for me?

No. Notification providers such as email, Slack, Discord and webhooks are configured inside Uptime Kuma with credentials you supply and manage. This template sets up no mail relay, so enter your own SMTP details if you want email alerts.

Can Uptime Kuma monitor Docker containers?

Upstream supports Docker container monitoring through the host's Docker socket, but this template intentionally excludes it, because exposing the socket would give the container control of the host. Use HTTP, TCP or push checks for services instead.

Can I put the Uptime Kuma data volume on NFS?

Not something this template supports. Uptime Kuma's SQLite database relies on local POSIX file locking, which network filesystems such as NFS may not provide reliably. Keep uptime_kuma_data on the server's local disk to avoid corruption.

What should I back up on an Uptime Kuma server?

Back up the complete uptime_kuma_data volume mounted at /app/data. It holds the SQLite database, monitor configuration and history, status pages and notification configuration. Copy it while Uptime Kuma is quiet, and keep a copy off the server.

How do I upgrade Uptime Kuma?

2.5.0 stays pinned until a newer template version is adopted. Copy uptime_kuma_data beforehand and check the project's notes. xCloud never upgrades a running site, and redeploying leaves the data volume alone, so monitors and status pages come through intact.

Is Uptime Kuma free?

Yes. Uptime Kuma carries the MIT licence, which means nothing is charged for the code. The only recurring cost is the dedicated Cloud VPS, and its disk fills with monitor history according to how many checks run and how long you keep them.

Can Uptime Kuma publish a public status page?

Yes. Upstream lists multiple status pages, and you can map a status page to a specific domain. The status page is public by design, so show only the monitors you want customers to see, and keep the rest private.

Is there an Uptime Kuma cloud service?

Not through this page. Uptime Kuma cloud hosting here means your own monitor runs on a Cloud VPS that xCloud prepares, with history and status pages on a volume you own. You decide who can reach the dashboard and the status pages.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
