What is Uptime Kuma?

Uptime Kuma is a free, self-hosted monitoring application. It checks endpoints over HTTP(S), TCP, DNS, ping, WebSocket and certificate expiry, keeps response-time and uptime history, sends alerts through notification providers you configure, and can publish public status pages. This template deploys version 2.5.0.

How do I self-host Uptime Kuma?

On xCloud it is a OneClick app: pick it from the catalog, choose a site title, server and domain, and we provision the pinned Uptime Kuma 2.5.0 container, the persistent data volume, the domain and the SSL certificate for you in about five minutes. There are no app-specific installation fields to fill in.

Does xCloud create an admin account for me?

No. There are no generated app credentials for this template. Uptime Kuma's own first-run setup creates the initial administrator account the first time you open the HTTPS URL — that account and its password are yours to set and keep secure.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The local port allocation, the rendered Docker Compose, the pinned Uptime Kuma 2.5.0 image by immutable digest, the persistent uptime_kuma_data volume, the domain and the HTTPS route. The app's origin port is bound to localhost, so the container is never directly exposed to the internet.

What should I do after the first deploy?

Open your HTTPS URL, complete Uptime Kuma's setup wizard to create the administrator account, then add a harmless HTTP monitor and confirm it reports correctly before configuring real customer endpoints or notification-provider credentials.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk as a floor. This page sells the 6 GB tier, comfortably above that. A handful of monitors runs fine on the entry size; larger monitor counts or longer history retention should scale from measured memory, disk and check-interval load.

What data should I back up?

The complete uptime_kuma_data volume mounted at /app/data — the SQLite database, monitor configuration and history, status pages and notification configuration all live there. Copy it off the application server, and for a consistent snapshot, stop or quiesce the container first, then restart and test the restore in a disposable instance.

Backups in xCloud

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Uptime Kuma?

No. The template pins Uptime Kuma 2.5.0 by immutable digest, and a catalog re-sync affects new installations only — it never silently upgrades an existing site. Before upgrading, back up /app/data, review the release and migration notes, update the tag and digest together, recreate the container against the same volume, then verify login, monitor history, checks and notifications.

Does xCloud configure notifications for me?

No. Notification providers — email, Slack, Discord, webhooks and the rest — are configured inside Uptime Kuma with credentials you supply and manage. xCloud provisions the server and the app; the monitoring policy and alerting setup are yours.

Can Uptime Kuma monitor Docker containers?

Upstream Uptime Kuma supports Docker-container monitoring via the host's Docker socket, but this template intentionally excludes that: it does not expose the host Docker socket to the container. Use its HTTP, TCP, DNS, ping, WebSocket and certificate checks instead.

Can I use network storage like NFS for the data volume?

Not something this template supports or claims. Uptime Kuma's SQLite database relies on local POSIX file locking, which network filesystems such as NFS don't reliably provide — the persistent volume here is local storage on your server.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Uptime Kuma?

No. We claim no official partnership, endorsement or upstream support relationship. Uptime Kuma is free and open source under the MIT licence, and this is a deployment and server-management option for it, not a fork or an official offering.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
