What is Errbit?

Errbit is an open-source, MIT-licensed tool for collecting and managing errors from other applications. It is Airbrake API compliant, so you can point an Airbrake-compatible notifier at your Errbit server and read the exceptions in its web interface.

How do I sign in after deployment?

Use the administrator email you entered at install and the generated password shown in the protected installation credentials. Unauthenticated pages redirect to sign-in, and public registration is off.

What runs alongside Errbit?

A private MongoDB 8.2 container with authentication enabled and no published host port. The Errbit web interface and notice API are the only published service, behind xCloud HTTPS.

How do I send errors to it?

Create an app in Errbit, then point your Airbrake-compatible notifier at your site using that app's API key.

Can it run on ARM servers?

No. The pinned Errbit image is published for amd64 only, so use an x86_64 server.

Why does the first start take a few minutes?

On first boot Errbit waits for MongoDB, then seeds the administrator and search indexes before the site is ready to sign in.

Can Errbit send email or use OAuth sign-in?

SMTP and OAuth stay off until you add complete settings in the app's environment and redeploy.

What survives a restart?

The errbit_mongodb_data volume holds users, apps, problems and notices; they persisted through an xCloud Restart in QA.

What should I back up?

The errbit_mongodb_data volume, plus the stable environment values: SECRET_KEY_BASE and the MongoDB credentials. The MongoDB root credentials apply only when the volume is first created.

Backups in xCloud

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Errbit?

No. The template pins Errbit 0.11.5 and MongoDB 8.2 by immutable digest; new installs use the pinned release and existing sites are not upgraded automatically. To upgrade, read the upstream release notes, back up, then bump the readable tag and digest together.

Does re-running the install seed change my password?

Yes. Re-running the post-install seed resets the administrator password to the stored value, so keep the generated password private and change day-to-day passwords in the Errbit UI.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 2 CPU cores, 2048 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 250-280 MiB across both containers. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Errbit?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Errbit project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Errbit project, licensed under MIT.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
