Deploy Checkmk hosting and monitor your servers, services and networks from your own domain with a self-hosted infrastructure monitoring platform. xCloud runs the pinned Checkmk 2.5.0 Community Edition container, generates the cmkadmin password, mounts one persistent site volume and publishes the web interface over HTTPS in minutes. It is amd64 only and monitors outbound, so your hosts must be reachable from the server.
Self-hosted Checkmk is an IT monitoring system that upstream calls comprehensive and designed for scalability, flexibility and low resource consumption. Its README says it supports infrastructure and application monitoring across physical, virtual, containerized and cloud environments, with a web UI and agent-based and agentless monitoring, and it describes its free open-source edition as licensed under the GNU GPL v2. It is a self-hosted alternative to hosted monitoring services such as Datadog.
On xCloud the template runs the checkmk/check-mk-community 2.5.0 image, pinned by digest, as one container holding the web interface, monitoring core, agent receiver and other site daemons, with no separate database. A single site called cmk lives on the checkmk_sites volume. The Community Edition is the only edition deployed, and the image runs on amd64 servers only.
Self-hosting Checkmk normally means a container, a site volume, a generated admin password, a domain and a certificate before the first host is added. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Checkmk from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Checkmk Community Edition container, pinned by immutable digest, mount the checkmk_sites volume that holds the whole site, generate the cmkadmin password, and publish the web interface over HTTPS at the /cmk/ path of your domain.
Step 03
Save the cmkadmin password from the protected credentials panel and open your HTTPS Checkmk URL — the first start takes a few minutes. Then add a host under Setup, run service discovery and activate the pending changes.
Checkmk Community Edition runs in full here: monitoring, alerting and dashboards in one site on a server you control.
Add a host and Checkmk finds the services running on it. In QA, a single added host yielded 20 monitored services.
Checks, alerting, dashboards and graphing live in the same Community Edition site, with no separate stack to assemble.
The web interface and the REST API are served on the same HTTPS address, so automation can use the same URL as people.
Monitor agent-based hosts, SNMP devices and network checks from one place. Monitoring is outbound, so monitored hosts must be reachable from the server.
Hosts can register and push data to the agent receiver over TLS with client certificates. xCloud does not open firewall ports, so you allow that port yourself.
Configuration, users, event history, graphs and agent certificates live on a single named volume, so one backup covers the whole site.
Managed hosting for Checkmk, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
A sysadmin adds hosts under Setup, activates the pending changes, and watches servers, services and networks from one self-hosted site instead of a per-host hosted subscription.
An engineer uses automatic service discovery so newly found services on a host are proposed for monitoring, with alerting and dashboards built on top, rather than hand-writing every check.
A team monitors Linux and Windows hosts through the agent receiver, plus SNMP devices, ICMP and HTTP checks, which run outbound from the container to the targets.
A DevOps engineer scripts host creation and configuration against the REST API served on the same HTTPS domain, instead of clicking through the interface for each change.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Upstream describes its free open-source edition as GNU GPL v2, and this template deploys the Community Edition, so there is no licence charge. The Enterprise, Cloud and MSP editions are commercial and not included. xCloud bills for the Cloud VPS.
Yes, and upstream documents Docker for all editions. This template does it for you: the checkmk/check-mk-community 2.5.0 image, pinned by digest, as one container with a persistent site volume behind HTTPS. It is Checkmk Docker hosting, amd64 only, so it cannot run on arm64.
Checkmk needs 2048 MB of RAM, 2 CPU cores and 10 GB of disk at the least, so a Checkmk cloud server is sold on the 6 GB Cloud VPS. Monitored hosts, services and check intervals decide real needs, and bigger estates need more.
Per upstream, Checkmk Raw is free and open source, while Checkmk Enterprise adds features such as distributed monitoring and built-in dashboards, and Cloud and MSP editions build on that. This template runs the Community Edition only, so commercial-edition features are not available.
The agent receiver listens on port 8000 and handles registration and push with TLS and client certificates, published on a platform-allocated host port. The platform does not open firewall ports, so open that port in your own firewall for the hosts you monitor.
Open your Checkmk URL, which ends in /cmk/, and sign in as cmkadmin with the generated password from your credentials. The first start creates the site and takes a few minutes. Change the password afterwards inside Checkmk under Setup, Users.
No, not by default. It stays inactive unless you set CMK_LIVESTATUS_TCP to on, which publishes TCP port 6557 with no authentication. If you enable it, restrict that port to trusted addresses in your own firewall.
Take a backup of the checkmk_sites volume, which holds the cmk monitoring site. For a consistent copy, stop the container first or use Checkmk's own backup facilities inside the site, and store the copy off the server. Test a restore before relying on it.
Version changes are your call. Checkmk 2.5.0 is pinned by digest and a catalogue refresh leaves live sites alone. Back up checkmk_sites, read upstream's release notes, then adopt a newer template version when one is published and check the site starts.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
