CrossWatch Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

CrossWatch hosting keeps Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Trakt, SIMKL and MDBList in sync from one web interface on your own domain. Deploy CrossWatch 0.13.2 as a self-hosted media sync engine: define sync pairs, run them on a schedule and review every change before it applies. xCloud adds HTTPS, a generated gateway password so nobody else can claim the first-run administrator account, and a persistent config volume.

What is CrossWatch?

Self-hosted CrossWatch is a media sync engine. Its README calls it a synchronization engine that acts as a bridge and keeps your media servers, such as Plex, Jellyfin and Emby, and trackers such as SIMKL, Trakt and MDBList in sync, covering watchlists, ratings, history, progress and collections. It offers interactive sync that lets you review additions, updates and removals before applying them, a watcher and webhooks that scrobble activity, and a web interface or command line. It replaces keeping lists aligned by hand. It is AGPL-3.0 licensed.

On xCloud the template runs the ghcr.io/cenodude/crosswatch 0.13.2 image behind a small Caddy gateway, both pinned by immutable digest, with settings, the tracker database and provider tokens on the crosswatch_config volume. HTTPS is published on your domain. There are two sign-ins: the gateway's Basic Authentication, then CrossWatch's own administrator account on first visit.

From Sign-Up to a Live CrossWatch In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting a sync hub normally means a reverse proxy, a TLS certificate and a way to stop the first visitor from claiming admin, before you can sync a single watchlist. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick CrossWatch from the OneClick catalog. Set the timezone and a gateway username; the gateway password is generated for you.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We provision the server, bring up the pinned CrossWatch and Caddy gateway images, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Start Using It

Sign in with the gateway credentials, create your CrossWatch administrator account on the setup screen, and connect your providers from Settings.

Everything CrossWatch Does, On Your Own Server

CrossWatch runs in full here — watchlist, rating and history sync across your media servers and trackers, with your tokens stored on infrastructure you control.

  • Sync Watchlists, Ratings And History

Keep watchlists, ratings, watch history and playback progress aligned between media servers and trackers from one interface.

  • Review Before You Apply

Define sync pairs, run them manually or on a schedule, and review additions, updates and removals before they go live.

  • Publish Lists For Kometa, Radarr And Sonarr

New in 0.13.2: publish lists that tools like Kometa, Radarr and Sonarr can consume directly.

  • Webhooks And OAuth Callbacks

Receive Plex, Jellyfin and Emby webhooks and provider OAuth callbacks on your own HTTPS domain.

  • Gateway-Protected First Run

A generated Basic Authentication gateway sits in front of the site, so nobody else can claim the first-run administrator account.

  • Settings Survive A Restart

Settings, the tracker database and provider tokens live on a persistent volume that survives an xCloud Restart.

Everything You Need To Run Your Media Sync 24/7

Managed hosting for CrossWatch, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • CrossWatch 0.13.2 deployed instantly
  • Plex, Jellyfin and Emby sync
  • Trakt, SIMKL and MDBList sync
  • Scheduled sync pairs
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Scheduled Docker backups
  • Security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With CrossWatch

  • Keep a watchlist the same everywhere

Define sync pairs between your media server and a tracker so an item added in one place appears in the other, instead of adding it twice.

  • Review changes before they apply

Run a sync manually or on a schedule and inspect the additions, updates and removals first, before any of them change a list.

  • Scrobble across services

Receive Plex, Jellyfin and Emby webhooks on your own HTTPS domain, so what you watch is scrobbled to your supported trackers.

  • Feed lists to Kometa, Radarr and Sonarr

Publish lists that Kometa, Radarr and Sonarr can consume directly. Published lists can reveal watchlist contents, so keep their tokens private.

CrossWatch vs Alternatives

Manual watchlist syncing
Adding every title to each service by hand drifts quickly. CrossWatch, per its README, keeps watchlists, ratings, history and progress aligned from one interface, with review before changes apply.
WatchState
WatchState has its own xCloud template. CrossWatch syncs through sync pairs you define, with interactive review of additions, updates and removals before they apply.
Radarr
Radarr has its own xCloud template, and CrossWatch 0.13.2 can publish lists for Radarr to consume. They complement each other rather than compete.
Sonarr
Sonarr has its own xCloud template, and CrossWatch 0.13.2 can publish lists for Sonarr to consume. CrossWatch keeps the lists in sync, and Sonarr acts on them.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How much RAM does CrossWatch need?

Per the manifest CrossWatch needs one core, 256 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk, and QA saw about 126 MiB idle. The 6 GB plan on offer here dwarfs that, so scheduled syncs across several services have plenty of room.

Is CrossWatch free and open source?

Yes. CrossWatch is licensed under the AGPL-3.0, per the LICENSE file at the v0.13.2 tag, which keeps the software free. xCloud bills only the dedicated server, and your settings, tracker database and provider tokens stay on your own volume.

Can you run CrossWatch with Docker?

Yes, and this is CrossWatch Docker hosting prepared for you: the template runs ghcr.io/cenodude/crosswatch 0.13.2 behind a Caddy gateway, both pinned by immutable digest, with crosswatch_config mounted at /config and HTTPS in front on your domain. No compose file is yours to write.

Which media servers and trackers does CrossWatch sync?

The README lists many, including Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, SIMKL, Trakt and MDBList, plus others. Sync covers watchlists, ratings, history, progress and collections for supported pairs. Check the README for the exact pair you want before relying on it.

Can I review changes before CrossWatch applies them?

Yes. The README describes interactive sync: review additions, updates and removals before applying them, resolve conflicts, and correct titles, IDs, seasons and episodes. You can run pairs manually or on a schedule, so start with manual runs until the mappings look right.

Why does CrossWatch have a gateway password and an app login?

CrossWatch has no setting for its own administrator login, so the first visitor would otherwise become admin. A generated Basic Authentication gateway sits in front, shown in your install credentials, and then CrossWatch asks you to create its own administrator account on first visit. They are separate sign-ins.

Are the CrossWatch webhook and published-list URLs public?

Yes, by design: /webhook/, /published/, /callback and /api/health bypass the gateway so media servers and list consumers can reach them. Keep their tokens private, because a published list can reveal what is on your watchlist. HSTS was not seen in verification.

Does CrossWatch need Plex Pass or Emby Premiere?

The README says its watcher, which scrobbles Plex, Emby, Jellyfin and Kodi activity to supported trackers, does not require Plex Pass or Emby Premiere. Webhooks are a separate route for Plex, Emby and Jellyfin. Check your own server's terms for any feature you enable.

What should I back up on a CrossWatch server?

A backup is the crosswatch_config volume, which holds settings, the tracker database and provider tokens, so protect the copy accordingly. Take it while the app is stopped so the tracker database is captured consistently, since live backups are not guaranteed consistent.

How do I upgrade CrossWatch?

Nothing upgrades it for you: the template pins 0.13.2 by immutable digest. Existing installs keep their image until you adopt a newer template version. Copy crosswatch_config with the app stopped, read the upstream release notes, apply the newer template version, and run a manual sync to check mappings.

Is this CrossWatch cloud hosting?

It is your own sync engine on a dedicated Cloud VPS provisioned by xCloud, not a hosted service. The container, the Caddy gateway and the volume belong to your install, and the interface is served over HTTPS on your domain behind the gateway password.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
