DumbDo Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy DumbDo hosting and keep a private to-do list on your own domain. xCloud runs the official DumbDo image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container, mounts a persistent volume for your lists and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes — you choose a 10-digit shared PIN at install, and there are no user accounts to manage.

What is DumbDo?

DumbDo is an open-source to-do list app from DumbWare.io, described upstream as a stupidly simple to-do list that just works: no complex database and no unnecessary features, just todos. It has a clean, minimal interface with dark and light themes, a responsive layout and PWA support.

It keeps several lists, has no user accounts, and can be protected with a shared PIN. Its data is stored in a file rather than a database. On xCloud it runs as a single container behind HTTPS, with the lists on a persistent volume.

From Sign-Up to a Live To-Do List In Just 3 Easy Steps

Running DumbDo yourself means a container, a data volume, a PIN set in the environment, a domain and a certificate before the first task. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick DumbDo from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then enter a Shared PIN of exactly 10 digits — random digits, not a date or a pattern.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official DumbDo image as a single container, pinned by immutable digest, mount the dumbdo_data volume that holds your lists, set your PIN, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain. There is no separate database to run.

  3. Step 03

Unlock And Add Your First To-Do

Open your HTTPS DumbDo URL and type the PIN on the unlock screen — it is also shown in the protected installation credentials. Add your first to-do and, if you need them, create more lists.

Everything DumbDo Does, On Your Own Server

DumbDo runs in full here: a small, fast to-do app on your own domain, with your lists stored on a volume you control.

  • Multiple Lists

Keep several to-do lists in one place and switch between them, without creating accounts for anyone.

  • Shared PIN Protection

One PIN unlocks the lists for everyone who should have access. Wrong PINs on the login form are rejected, and repeated failures trigger a per-client lockout.

  • Clean, Responsive Interface

A minimal interface with dark and light themes that adapts to phones and desktops.

  • No Database To Run

Lists are kept in a file on the dumbdo_data volume, so there is no separate database service to maintain.

  • Installable As A PWA

Upstream lists Progressive Web App support, so it can be added to a device like an app.

  • Survives A Restart

A completed to-do was still there after the container was restarted in QA, because the lists live on a persistent volume.

What You Can Do With DumbDo

  • A private personal task list

Keep your own to-dos on a server you control instead of in a hosted task service, behind a PIN only you know.

  • A shared household or small-team list

Give everyone who should see the lists the same PIN, with no accounts or invitations to manage.

  • Separate lists for separate jobs

Split groceries, work and projects into their own lists and switch between them in one place.

  • A light app you can install

Add the HTTPS URL to a phone or desktop as a PWA so it opens like an app.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

Open the site and enter the 10-digit PIN you chose at install; it is also shown in the installation credentials.

Are there user accounts?

No. Everyone with the PIN shares the same lists, and anyone with the PIN can read and edit every list, so share it only with people who should have full access.

Why must the PIN be 10 digits?

The PIN is the only access control. The login form locks a client out after repeated wrong attempts, but the app does not rate-limit a PIN sent as a request header, so a long, random PIN matters. The install form requires exactly 10 digits.

What happens if I clear the PIN?

Do not clear it. If DUMBDO_PIN is emptied in the environment editor, the app is open to anyone who can reach the site. To change the PIN, edit it there and Save & Redeploy.

Does it need a database?

No. DumbDo stores its lists in a file on the persistent dumbdo_data volume, and the install is a single container.

What should I back up?

The dumbdo_data volume, which holds the to-do data file. Back it up before redeploying.

What survives a restart?

Your lists. In QA the container was restarted and a created, completed to-do was still present, because the data lives on a persistent named volume.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update DumbDo?

No. The template pins the official image by immutable digest and upstream publishes no version tags, so updates are manual: after reviewing upstream changes, bump the pinned commit tag and digest together. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 128 MB of RAM and 1 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 36 MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, which leaves plenty of room for other apps on the same server.

Is xCloud officially partnered with DumbDo?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the DumbDo project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source DumbDo project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
