From Sign-Up to a Live Donetick Household In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting a chore tracker normally means a container, a database file, an auth layer, a domain and a certificate before a single chore is scheduled. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Donetick from the OneClick catalog. Enter a site title and domain — there are no other fields to fill in.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official Donetick 0.1.79 image, generate a JWT signing secret, mount the donetick_data volume and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Create Your Account And Add A Chore

Open your HTTPS URL and create the first local account. Sign in, create or join your household circle, and add the first recurring chore.

Everything Donetick Does, On Your Own Server

Donetick runs in full here — a self-hosted household chore and task manager, on infrastructure you control.

  • Recurring Chores & Schedules

Organize household chores, recurring tasks, schedules, assignments and progress in one shared application.

  • Household Circles

Create or join a household circle so everyone shares the same list of chores and who's responsible for each one.

  • Local Accounts

Create local Donetick accounts directly in the app — no external identity provider required.

  • Persistent SQLite Storage

Every account, circle and chore is written to a SQLite database on donetick_data, so it survives a restart.

  • HTTPS On Your Domain

The Donetick web app is the only thing exposed, published behind xCloud-managed HTTPS.

  • One Volume, Fully Persistent

The SQLite database and application data both live in donetick_data, which survives a restart intact.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What is Donetick?

Donetick is a free, open-source app for organizing household chores, recurring tasks, schedules and assignments for a household, family, roommates or small group. This template deploys version 0.1.79.

Is Donetick free?

Yes — it is free and open source under the GNU AGPL-3.0 license. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the application itself.

Can I self-host Donetick?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the official Donetick 0.1.79 image, mounts its persistent data volume and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in minutes instead of assembled by hand.

How do I sign in?

With a local account you create yourself. There is no generated admin login — open your HTTPS URL after install and create the first account through Donetick's own sign-up screen, then create or join a household circle.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The generated JWT signing secret, the SQLite database, the persistent donetick_data volume, the domain and the HTTPS route. Only the Donetick web application is published through xCloud-managed ingress.

Do I need an external identity provider?

No. This template uses Donetick's own local account authentication. There is no SSO or OAuth configured, and none is required to sign up or sign in.

What should I back up?

The donetick_data volume, as one unit. It holds the SQLite database with every account, household circle and chore, under /donetick-data. Keep the generated JWT signing secret with the backup — restoring the volume without it, or with a different one, invalidates active sessions.

What happens if the JWT secret changes?

Every active session is invalidated and everyone has to sign in again. Accounts and chores are unaffected, since those live in the SQLite database on donetick_data, not in the secret itself.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Donetick?

No. The template pins Donetick 0.1.79; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Before upgrading, review the upstream release notes, back up the donetick_data volume, and test account login plus chore read-back after the version change.

What are the server requirements?

The template brief asks for 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 3 GB of disk as a floor — Donetick is lightweight. This page sells the same 6 GB tier as every other OneClick app, well above what Donetick itself needs, so there's room for other work on the same server.

What survives a restart?

Everything on donetick_data, because it is a persistent named volume. A restart does not touch an existing account, household circle, or chore.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Donetick?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Donetick project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Donetick project.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
