farmOS Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy farmOS hosting and keep your farm's records, assets and logs in one self-hosted app on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned farmOS 4.0.7 image with a private PostgreSQL 17 database and a separate cron container, creates the admin account with a generated password, mounts persistent volumes and publishes farmOS over HTTPS in minutes.

What is farmOS?

farmOS is a web-based application for farm management, planning and record keeping. It is developed by a community of volunteers and aims to provide a standard platform for farmers, developers and researchers to build upon.

You record what the farm has, such as land, plantings, animals and equipment, as assets, and what happens to it as logs, such as activities, observations, inputs and harvests. This template deploys the official image with its own PostgreSQL database.

From Sign-Up to a Live Farm Record In Just 3 Easy Steps

A farmOS stack normally means a Drupal-based web application, a database, a cron job, volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first record. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick farmOS from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, and enter the administrator email.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official farmOS image, pinned by immutable digest, with a private PostgreSQL 17 database and a cron container kept off the public internet, mount the farmos_sites and farmos_db volumes, generate the admin password, run the installer before the web server starts and publish farmOS over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Log Your First Activity

Wait a few minutes for the first-start install, open your HTTPS farmOS URL and sign in as admin with the password from the installation credentials. Add your first Land asset, then log an Activity against it.

Everything farmOS Does, On Your Own Server

farmOS runs in full here: a web-based farm record keeper on your own domain, with the database and scheduled cron alongside it.

  • Assets And Logs

Record land, plantings, animals, equipment and activities as assets and logs in one place.

  • Common Log Types Ready

Land assets and the Activity, Observation, Input and Harvest log types are enabled out of the box.

  • Attach Files To Logs

Attach files of up to 100 MB to logs so photos and documents stay with the record.

  • Closed To The Public

Public self-registration is off: the administrator adds the users who can sign in.

  • Scheduled Cron Included

A scheduled Drupal cron runs in a separate private container, so periodic tasks keep running.

  • Records That Persist

Records, uploaded files and the PostgreSQL database sit on persistent volumes and survived an xCloud Restart in QA.

Everything You Need To Run Your Farm Records 24/7

  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots

What You Can Do With farmOS

  • Keep a record of every field and planting

Add land and planting assets and log what is done to each, so the farm's history is in one searchable place.

  • Log activities, inputs and harvests

Use the Activity, Observation, Input and Harvest log types to write down the work as it happens.

  • Keep farm data on your own server

Records, attachments and users live in your own database and volumes rather than with a hosted service.

  • Share one system across a small team

The administrator adds the people who need access, so a family farm or cooperative can work from the same records.

farmOS vs Alternatives

Farmier
A paid farmOS hosting option named in farmOS's README, for people who would rather not run a server at all.
Farmbrite
A hosted commercial farm management service: your records live on the provider's platform, whereas farmOS keeps them on a server you control.
Spreadsheets
A common way to start recording farm activity; farmOS adds structured assets and logs for land, plantings and animals in place of loose sheets.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo Villa
Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

Use the username admin and the generated password from the installation credentials. Allow a few minutes on first start while the installer runs.

What runs alongside farmOS?

A private PostgreSQL 17 database and a cron container, both with no published host ports. Only the farmOS web interface is published, through xCloud-managed HTTPS.

Can people self-register?

No. Public self-registration is off, and the administrator adds users.

How do I change the admin password?

Change the administrator password inside farmOS after the first sign-in.

Does farmOS send email?

Not out of the box. Outbound email is not configured, so password-reset and notification emails need SMTP settings added by the operator.

Can I use the farmOS mobile apps such as Field Kit?

Not as configured. The external API for apps such as Field Kit is not set up in this template.

What should I back up?

Both volumes: farmos_sites (settings, private files and uploads) and farmos_db (PostgreSQL data).

What survives a restart?

Records, uploaded files and the database, because they sit on the farmos_sites and farmos_db named volumes; they survived an xCloud Restart in QA.

How large can an attachment be?

Files of up to 100 MB can be attached to logs.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 180 MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update farmOS?

No. The template pins the farmOS image and PostgreSQL by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up both volumes, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

Is xCloud officially partnered with farmOS?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the farmOS project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source farmOS project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
