GitBucket hosting on xCloud gives you a self-hosted Git server with repositories, pull requests, issues and wikis on your own domain. Deploy GitBucket from the OneClick catalog and xCloud starts the pinned 4.48.0 image as one container with its built-in database, generates the root administrator password, mounts a persistent volume and publishes the web interface and Git over HTTPS. Git over SSH uses a port you open in your own firewall.
GitBucket is a Git web platform powered by Scala, according to its README, offering easy installation, an intuitive interface, high extensibility through plugins and API compatibility with GitHub. Its features include public and private Git repositories over HTTP and SSH, Git LFS support, an online file editor, issues, pull requests and wikis, an activity timeline, account and group management with LDAP integration and a plugin system. Self-hosted GitBucket is a Git server you run yourself. It is licensed under Apache-2.0.
Through xCloud, the template starts GitBucket 4.48.0 from the official image, pinned by digest, as one JVM container with the built-in H2 database. The database, repositories, plugins, configuration and SSH host key sit on the gitbucket_data volume. Upstream creates a root administrator with a default password, and the install replaces it with a generated one before the site is reachable.
A Git platform normally means a container, a database, an administrator account, a volume, an SSH port, a domain and a certificate before the first push. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick GitBucket from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official GitBucket image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with the built-in H2 database, mount the gitbucket_data volume for the database, repositories, plugins, configuration and SSH host key, generate the root password and publish it over HTTPS, with Git over SSH on its own allocated port.
Step 03
Save the root password and the SSH port from the protected installation credentials, open your HTTPS GitBucket URL after the first start (about a minute) and sign in as root. Create your first repository and clone it over HTTPS, or over SSH once you allow the SSH port in your firewall and add your public key.
GitBucket runs in full here: a Git platform with repositories, reviews and issues on your own domain, backed by storage you own.
Host repositories on your own server and clone them over HTTPS or SSH.
Each repository has pull requests, issues and a wiki, plus an online file editor and an activity timeline.
Extend GitBucket with its plugin system; GitLFS is supported.
Git pushes over HTTPS are accepted up to 1 GB out of the box.
The root account is created with a generated 24-character password, and GitBucket's well-known root/root login was verified to be rejected.
Repositories, the built-in database and settings survive an xCloud Restart; a repository, its commit and README were still present and the clone returned identical content.
Managed hosting for GitBucket, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Your team pushes code over HTTPS or SSH to repositories only its members can read, on a server you rent.
Contributors open pull requests, reviewers comment, and maintainers merge, with issues and a wiki alongside each repository.
Upstream says GitBucket's API is compatible with GitHub's, so some tools that speak that API can point at your server. Test each one.
A team adds features through the plugin system and manages users with LDAP integration.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes. GitBucket is open source under Apache-2.0, whose file is linked here at the pinned 4.48.0 tag. xCloud bills for the Cloud VPS under it, not for GitBucket, and there is no per-user fee. Plugins carry their own licences, so check each one.
Yes, and this GitBucket Docker hosting template does it for you: the official ghcr.io/gitbucket/gitbucket image, pinned by digest, runs as one container with the built-in H2 database, with HTTPS in front of port 8080. It is not a GitBucket cloud account, so repositories stay with you.
The catalog minimum for GitBucket comes to 1024 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 5 GB of disk, because it runs on a JVM, and QA measured about 294 MiB idle. Large repositories and pushes need more. This page sells the 6 GB tier, which leaves headroom.
Use the username root and the generated password in the protected installation credentials. Upstream creates root with a default password, and the install replaces it before the site is reachable. Change it under Account settings afterwards; the credentials card keeps showing the original.
Yes. SSH is published on its own TCP port shown in the credentials. xCloud never changes firewall rules, so allow that port in your own firewall and add your public key to your account. Git over HTTPS works through your domain without the extra port.
Public repositories can be read without signing in by default, which is GitBucket's own setting. Set GITBUCKET_ALLOW_ANONYMOUS_ACCESS=false in the Environment editor to require sign-in. Pushing needs an account with write access, and account registration is off unless an administrator enables it.
Git pushes over HTTPS are accepted up to 1 GB at the proxy, and GitBucket itself adds no cap. Issue attachments, wiki and editor uploads stay at the app's 3 MB default until you raise the upload settings, and raising them above 1 GB needs a matching proxy limit.
Nothing else. It is a single container with the built-in H2 database. Dotfiles such as .github, .gitignore and .gitattributes open in the repository viewer, while other dot-prefixed paths are refused by the web server in front, so use git clone to read those.
Back up the gitbucket_data volume, which holds the database, repositories, plugins, configuration and SSH host key. Back it up with the container stopped, since the embedded H2 database allows a single writer. Test a restore on a disposable install before relying on it.
Your 4.48.0 deployment keeps its pinned image until you decide to adopt a newer template version. Back up the volume with the container stopped and read the upstream release notes, since plugins may need updating too. Then sign in and clone a repository to confirm.
It offers repositories, pull requests, issues and wikis on your own server, and its README claims API compatibility with GitHub. GitHub is a hosted platform, and this page makes no feature-parity claim, so test the integrations you depend on before moving.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
