GreptimeDB Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy GreptimeDB hosting and keep metrics, logs and traces in one database on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned GreptimeDB v1.2.1 image as a single container, generates a 32-character password that protects the HTTP API, gRPC, MySQL and PostgreSQL endpoints, keeps tables and the write-ahead log on a persistent volume and publishes the dashboard over HTTPS in minutes.

What is GreptimeDB?

GreptimeDB is an open-source observability database for metrics, logs and traces. You query it with SQL or PromQL, and you can reach it through its HTTP API, a built-in web dashboard, or the MySQL, PostgreSQL and gRPC protocols.

On xCloud it runs as a single-node instance behind HTTPS with one generated login. GreptimeDB is licensed under Apache-2.0.

From Sign-Up to a Live GreptimeDB In Just 3 Easy Steps

A GreptimeDB install normally means a container, a data volume, authentication wired into four protocols, a domain and a certificate before the first query. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick GreptimeDB from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server and set the Admin Username (default greptime).

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official GreptimeDB image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with no other services, generate a 32-character password, mount the greptimedb_data volume and publish the HTTP API and dashboard over HTTPS.

  3. Step 03

    Open The Dashboard

Save the generated password from the protected installation credentials, open your HTTPS URL at /dashboard/ and sign in. Then create a table, or point a client at the HTTP, MySQL, PostgreSQL or gRPC endpoint.

Everything GreptimeDB Does, On Your Own Server

GreptimeDB runs in full here: one database for observability data, with a login that covers every endpoint and a volume you own.

  • Metrics, Logs And Traces Together

Store all three kinds of observability data in one database and query them with SQL or PromQL.

  • Built-In Web Dashboard

The dashboard is served over xCloud-managed HTTPS on your domain; its API calls require the login.

  • Connect Existing Clients

Use the MySQL, PostgreSQL or gRPC protocols, or ingest over HTTP with Prometheus remote write, InfluxDB line protocol, OTLP or Loki.

  • One Login For Every Endpoint

A single generated login protects the HTTP API, gRPC, MySQL and PostgreSQL; QA confirmed unauthenticated and wrong-password access is rejected on all four.

  • Persistent Storage

Tables, the write-ahead log and metadata live on the greptimedb_data volume; QA confirmed written data was still present after a container restart.

  • Optional Object Storage

Switch the storage backend to an object store with the GREPTIMEDB_STANDALONE__STORAGE__ settings in the Environment editor.

Everything You Need To Run Your Observability Database 24/7

Managed hosting for GreptimeDB, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • GreptimeDB v1.2.1 deployed instantly
  • Official image pinned by digest
  • One generated login for four protocols
  • Persistent greptimedb_data volume
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With GreptimeDB

  • Keep metrics, logs and traces in one place

Write all three signal types into one database and query them with SQL or PromQL.

  • Back a Prometheus or OpenTelemetry pipeline

Ingest through Prometheus remote write, OTLP, InfluxDB line protocol or Loki and keep the data on your own server.

  • Query with the clients you already use

Connect any MySQL or PostgreSQL client, or use the gRPC endpoint, with the same generated login.

  • Run IoT or application time-series workloads

Store time-series tables on a persistent volume and read them back with SQL.

GreptimeDB vs Alternatives

Prometheus
Prometheus stores metrics and is queried with PromQL; GreptimeDB also accepts Prometheus remote write and adds logs and traces plus SQL in the same database.
InfluxDB
InfluxDB is a time-series database with its own line protocol; GreptimeDB accepts InfluxDB line protocol and can also be queried over MySQL and PostgreSQL clients.
Grafana Loki
Loki is a log store; GreptimeDB can ingest Loki-format logs alongside metrics and traces in one database.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

Use the username (default greptime) and the generated password from the installation credentials, on the dashboard or in any client.

Which ports are exposed?

The dashboard and HTTP API (port 4000) use xCloud-managed HTTPS. The gRPC (4001), MySQL (4002) and PostgreSQL (4003) ports are public TCP endpoints on the server; xCloud does not open the firewall, so open them in your own firewall and restrict by source address.

Is traffic on the gRPC, MySQL and PostgreSQL ports encrypted?

No. Traffic on those three ports is not encrypted, so use a private network, tunnel or a firewall allowlist.

Is there passwordless access?

No. QA verified the same login works on HTTP, MySQL, PostgreSQL and gRPC, and that no endpoint allows passwordless access.

How do I change the login?

Edit ADMIN_USER or ADMIN_PASSWORD in the Environment editor and redeploy. That changes the login for all four protocols at once, so update every client together.

What should I back up?

The greptimedb_data volume, which holds all tables, the write-ahead log and metadata. Stop the container and copy it, or move storage to an object store.

Is telemetry sent upstream?

Upstream anonymous telemetry is on by default and can be disabled with GREPTIMEDB_STANDALONE__ENABLE_TELEMETRY=false.

What survives a restart?

Everything on the greptimedb_data volume. In QA written data was still present after a container restart.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update GreptimeDB?

No. The template pins GreptimeDB v1.2.1 by immutable digest; existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 1024 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 48 MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with GreptimeDB?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the GreptimeDB project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source GreptimeDB project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
