Deploy Marreta hosting and give yourself a private paste-a-link article reader on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned Marreta 3.0.4 image with a private Lightpanda headless browser and a Caddy gateway that puts the whole site behind a generated password, mounts a persistent volume and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes — the app and browser containers are never exposed directly.
Marreta is an open-source article reader. You paste a link, it fetches the page and shows the article in a clean view, using per-domain rules for sites that block simple fetches. It also offers an HTTP API at /api/{url} and an admin panel at /admin for managing rules and blocked domains.
Upstream describes it as a tool that removes access barriers and elements that get in the way of reading. It is a Laravel application and is released under the GPL-3.0 licence.
A Marreta stack normally means the app, a headless browser, a password gateway, a volume, a domain and a certificate before the first article loads. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Marreta from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then enter an access username (the default is reader) and the email for the admin panel.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Marreta image and a Lightpanda 1.0.0 headless browser, both private with no host ports, put a Caddy gateway in front that enforces the password, mount the marreta_storage volume, generate the access and admin passwords, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Save the access and admin passwords from the protected installation credentials, give it about a minute, then open your HTTPS Marreta URL and enter the access credentials. Paste an article link on the home page to read it, or sign in at /admin to manage rules.
Marreta runs in full here: the reader, its HTTP API and the admin panel, behind a password gate on your own domain.
Paste an article link on the home page and Marreta fetches the page and shows its content in a clean view.
Call /api/{url} to fetch an article from your own scripts and integrations, using the same access credentials.
A bundled Lightpanda browser renders pages that need JavaScript, and stays private on the install's network.
Sign in at /admin to manage per-domain rules for sites that block simple fetches, and a list of blocked domains.
The interface, the API and the admin panel all sit behind HTTP Basic Authentication with a generated password; requests without credentials or with wrong ones are rejected.
Upstream cleans up URLs, strips tracking parameters and caches pages; the cache lives in the persistent marreta_storage volume.
Managed hosting for Marreta, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Open the home page, paste an article link and read the page without the clutter around it, on a server only you and the people you trust can reach.
Call /api/{url} from your own tools and integrations to pull an article through your own instance instead of a public one.
Pages that only render with JavaScript go through the bundled Lightpanda headless browser, so they are not limited to what a plain fetch returns.
Use the admin panel to keep per-domain rules for sites that block simple fetches, and to block domains you do not want the instance to fetch.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Your browser prompts for the access username and generated password before the site opens. The admin panel at /admin has its own sign-in with the admin email you entered at install and a generated password. Both passwords are shown in the protected installation credentials.
No. The whole site — interface, API and admin panel — sits behind HTTP Basic Authentication, and requests with no credentials or wrong ones are rejected. Marreta fetches any page it is given, so share the access credentials only with people you trust: submitted URLs are fetched by the server, including addresses reachable only from it.
A Lightpanda 1.0.0 headless browser for JavaScript-rendered pages and a Caddy gateway that enforces the password. The gateway is the only published service; the app and browser are private, with no host ports.
Edit ACCESS_USERNAME and ACCESS_PASSWORD in the environment settings and Save & Redeploy; they apply on every start. The admin email and password apply on first start only, so change the admin password inside the admin panel.
Allow about a minute after install. On first start the app creates its SQLite database, runs migrations and creates the admin account.
The marreta_storage volume — it holds the SQLite database (rules, blocked domains, admin account, sessions), the generated application key and the page cache — and your stable .env values.
Rules, the admin account, the application key and the page cache are kept on the marreta_storage volume and survived an xCloud Restart in QA.
It may not work. The web app manifest is requested without credentials, so installing it as a PWA may fail behind the Basic Authentication prompt.
No. The template pins Marreta 3.0.4 and its images by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the image tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.
The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 80 MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.
No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Marreta project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Marreta project.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No credit card required, and no plan you have to grow into.
