MaxKB hosting on xCloud gives you a self-hosted AI agent platform on your own domain. Deploy MaxKB and xCloud runs the pinned all-in-one image with its bundled PostgreSQL and Redis, sets the administrator password you enter at install instead of any default, publishes the web interface over HTTPS, and keeps all application data on one persistent volume. Sign in as admin, connect an LLM and an embedding provider, then build your first knowledge base.
Self-hosted MaxKB, short for Max Knowledge Brain, is an open-source platform for building enterprise-grade agents. Upstream says it integrates retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, a workflow engine, MCP tool use, document upload or crawling with automatic splitting and vectorisation, and support for private and public models. Upstream names its typical application scenarios as intelligent customer service, corporate internal knowledge bases, academic research and education, and it is GPL-3.0 licensed.
On xCloud the template runs 1panel/maxkb v2.10.5-lts, the vendor's all-in-one image, pinned by digest, with PostgreSQL and Redis bundled inside the one container. The maxkb_data volume holds everything. The administrator password comes from the install form. No model is included, so you configure an LLM and an embedding provider inside MaxKB after sign-in.
A self-hosted RAG platform normally means an application, a database, a cache, a data volume, a domain and a certificate before the first document is indexed. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick MaxKB from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and server, then enter an Administrator Password of 12 to 20 characters with letters, a number and a special character.
Step 02
One click. We start the official MaxKB container, pinned by immutable digest, with PostgreSQL and Redis running privately inside it, mount the maxkb_data volume, create the admin account from your password and publish port 8080 over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS MaxKB URL and sign in as admin with the password shown in the protected install credentials. Add an LLM and an embedding model, create a knowledge base from your documents, then create and publish an agent.
MaxKB runs in full here: a knowledge-base and agent builder on your own domain, with documents and conversations kept on your server.
Turn documents into a searchable knowledge base that an agent can answer questions from.
Create an agent on top of a knowledge base and publish it with its own chat link for teammates or customers.
Connect an LLM and an embedding provider from inside MaxKB. The template does not manage provider credentials; OpenAI chat and embedding models were verified.
Ask questions in the agent chat and get answers grounded in the documents you added.
Both run inside the application container and are not exposed outside it, so there is no separate database to provision.
The built-in admin account is initialised from the password you choose at install, and unauthenticated API calls are rejected.
Managed hosting for MaxKB, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Load manuals, policies or notes into a knowledge base and let people ask questions in chat instead of searching files.
Publish an agent with its own chat link so others can use it without access to the admin interface.
Connect the LLM and embedding provider of your choice from inside MaxKB and change them as your needs change.
Run the knowledge base on a server you control so documents and conversations are stored there.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. MaxKB is GPL-3.0 licensed and its code is open. xCloud bills the dedicated Cloud VPS, and your model provider bills separately for any hosted model you connect. The template adds no paid MaxKB tier.
Yes, and this template is MaxKB Docker hosting without the assembly. It starts the vendor's all-in-one 1panel/maxkb v2.10.5-lts image, pinned by digest, with PostgreSQL and Redis inside the one container, proxies port 8080 behind HTTPS and mounts the maxkb_data volume.
With PostgreSQL and Redis bundled in one container, the manifest asks for 4 GB of RAM, four cores and 30 GB of disk. A MaxKB cloud install on the 16 GB Cloud VPS sold here has headroom for documents and concurrent chats.
The username is admin, and the password is the one you entered in the install form, shown in the installation credentials. The template does not use the fixed default password from upstream's quick start. Changing the environment value later does not change the account; rotate it inside MaxKB.
No. Configure an LLM provider and an embedding provider inside MaxKB before you create a knowledge base or agent. Provider credentials are entered in the app, not in the template. Upstream lists private and public models, so choose one that suits your data.
Upstream calls MaxKB model-agnostic, naming private models such as DeepSeek, Llama and Qwen, and public models such as OpenAI, Claude and Gemini. Pick your provider in the app after sign-in. Calls to hosted providers leave your server, so check their terms.
Yes. Upstream describes integrating agents into third-party systems without code, and an agent can have its own chat link so others use it without access to the admin console. Review what knowledge the agent can reach before you share the link.
Back up the maxkb_data volume as one unit. It contains MaxKB application data and the bundled PostgreSQL data. Stop or quiesce the application before a filesystem-level copy, restore the whole volume together, and test a restore before relying on it.
Your install stays on its pinned v2.10.5-lts version until you adopt a newer template version. Back up the whole volume first and read the MaxKB LTS release notes, then test the upgrade and a rollback. Afterwards sign in and ask a question against a knowledge base.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
