Puter hosting on xCloud lets you deploy Puter and run your own cloud desktop in the browser, with file storage and built-in apps, on a server you control. xCloud runs the pinned Puter 26.10 image alongside MariaDB, Valkey, DynamoDB Local and RustFS object storage, generates every secret, lets Puter create the admin account on first start, and publishes the desktop, API and file storage over three HTTPS domains.
Puter is, in upstream's words, an advanced, open-source, self-hostable internet computer designed to be feature-rich, fast and highly extensible. For users it puts files, built-in apps and a desktop-style interface behind a browser tab, and for developers it is a platform for building and hosting apps of their own. A self-hosted Puter is an alternative to a hosted storage service such as Google Drive, licensed AGPL-3.0.
On xCloud the template runs Puter 26.10 from the vendor's image, pinned by digest, with MariaDB for accounts, Valkey as a one-node cluster, DynamoDB Local for the key-value store and RustFS for file contents. Five volumes persist the data. Registration is closed, so only the generated admin account can sign in, and the install needs three HTTPS domains: desktop, API and file storage.
Self-hosting a cloud desktop normally means a database, a cache, an object store, three domains and a locked-down admin account before a single file can be uploaded. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account, pick Puter from the OneClick catalog, choose a domain for the desktop, and map the API and file-storage endpoints to domains of your choice.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned Puter 26.10 image alongside MariaDB, Valkey, DynamoDB Local and RustFS object storage, generate every secret, and publish the desktop over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Read the generated admin password with the command shown in the protected installation credentials, open the HTTPS Puter URL, sign in as admin, and change the password in account settings right away.
Puter runs in full here — the same cloud-desktop and file-storage tooling as any hosted personal cloud, on infrastructure you control.
Files, folders and built-in apps on a server you control, reached through a desktop-style web interface.
Only the generated admin account can sign in until you deliberately open registration.
File uploads go to a bundled S3-compatible object store (RustFS), so large files do not pass through the app container.
MariaDB, Valkey, DynamoDB Local and RustFS run alongside Puter with nothing to assemble yourself.
Puter is also a platform for building and hosting apps of your own on the same desktop.
The verify run restarted all six containers and the uploaded file, folder and login were intact afterward.
Managed hosting for Puter, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Upload files and folders to your own server and open them from any browser on a desktop-style interface.
Create accounts for a few people on a server you run, with registration closed to everyone else.
Use Puter as the platform for apps you write, hosted on the same desktop as your files.
Upload files that go to the bundled S3-compatible store rather than through the app container.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes. Puter is AGPL-3.0 software, free to run on your own server. Your cost is the Cloud VPS carrying all six containers and the five volumes of files and data, which is where storage growth shows up.
The manifest asks for 2 CPU cores, 1 GB of RAM and 10 GB of disk as a floor for the whole stack. Six containers share the server, so the 6 GB plan gives them real headroom and room for uploaded files.
Yes, and this template is Puter Docker hosting without the assembly: Puter 26.10, MariaDB 11.8, Valkey 8, DynamoDB Local and RustFS, all pinned by digest, with every secret generated and three HTTPS domains configured. Only three endpoints are reachable from outside.
Puter serves its desktop on the main domain, its API under a separate host that a small proxy maps, and file uploads through presigned links on a storage domain. The main domain is permanent, because Puter bakes it into the addresses it creates.
Sign in as admin with the generated password, which you read from the container log with the command in your installation credentials. Change it straight away, because the password stays printed in the log on every start until you do.
Not by default. Registration is closed, so only the generated admin account can sign in. The owner can open sign-up by setting PUTER_DISABLE_USER_SIGNUP=false in the Environment editor and redeploying. Only do that if you intend to serve people beyond the admin account.
No. The API reflects any CORS origin, which is upstream behaviour rather than an xCloud setting, so authentication by bearer token is what protects it. Do not rely on origin checks for security, and keep the admin password private.
Only with extra setup. Sites and apps on subdomains of the main domain need wildcard DNS and certificates that this template does not set up. No email is sent until you configure SMTP, so plan around that too.
Back up all five volumes together: puter_data, mariadb_data, valkey_data, dynamo_data and rustfs_data, plus the stable environment values holding secrets and storage credentials. Changing signing secrets later signs everyone out and breaks existing file links, so treat them as stable.
The install stays on Puter 26.10 until you adopt a newer template version. Back up all five volumes first and read the upstream release notes. Nothing upgrades the app automatically, and database and storage passwords only apply at first start.
This page is your own Puter cloud: a dedicated Cloud VPS running the open-source system, with files and accounts on volumes you control. It is a private instance rather than a shared service, so you decide who signs in.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
