Rustypaste Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Rustypaste hosting on xCloud gives you a tiny pastebin and file server you control. xCloud deploys the official Rustypaste 0.18.1 image pinned by digest, generates an upload token and a delete token, keeps uploads on a persistent volume and publishes the server over HTTPS on your domain in minutes — then one curl command uploads a file and returns a short link.

What is Rustypaste?

Rustypaste is an open-source, minimal file upload and pastebin service written in Rust. You send a file or text to the server with curl and it replies with a short link; opening that link returns the content.

It keeps no database and has no web interface or user accounts: uploaded files are stored on the filesystem, uploading is controlled by a token, and deleting is controlled by a separate token.

From Sign-Up to Your First Upload In Just 3 Easy Steps

A self-hosted paste server normally means a container, a configuration file, access tokens, a volume, a domain and a certificate before the first upload. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Rustypaste from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official Rustypaste image pinned by immutable digest, plus two small helper containers with no published ports (one fixes volume permissions, one checks readiness), mount the rustypaste_upload volume, generate the upload and delete tokens, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Upload Your First File

Save the upload token and delete token from the installation credentials, then upload from a terminal with curl and the token in the Authorization header. The reply is the URL of your file.

Everything Rustypaste Does, On Your Own Server

Rustypaste runs in full here: a curl-driven paste and file server on your own domain, with the upload and delete tokens already generated.

  • One-Command Uploads

Send a file or text with a single curl command and the server replies with a short link to it.

  • Token-Protected Uploads

Uploads need the upload token in the Authorization header; requests with no token or a wrong token are rejected.

  • A Separate Delete Token

Removing a file needs the delete token, and the delete token cannot be used to upload.

  • Expiring And One-Shot Links

Upstream supports expiring links and links that can only be viewed once; this install also deletes expired files every hour.

  • Short URLs And Remote Pastes

Upstream can shorten a URL or fetch a file from a remote URL, using the same curl form upload.

  • No Database To Run

Rustypaste stores uploads on the filesystem, so the only data to keep is the upload volume.

Everything You Need To Run Your Paste Server 24/7

Managed hosting for Rustypaste, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Rustypaste 0.18.1 deployed instantly
  • Official image pinned by digest
  • Upload and delete tokens generated
  • Kept behind xCloud nginx
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Rustypaste

  • Share logs and snippets from a terminal

Pipe a log, diff or config straight from the shell and paste the returned link into a chat or ticket, without opening a browser.

  • Hand over a file with a short link

Upload a build artifact or export and send the link, instead of attaching it to an email or a third-party file host.

  • Links that expire on their own

Send an expire header with an upload so the file is removed after the time you choose; this install also clears expired files hourly.

  • A private drop for a small team

Give teammates the upload token so only they can add files, while anyone with a link can open what you share.

Rustypaste vs Alternatives

PrivateBin
A pastebin where the server has zero knowledge of the data, with content encrypted and decrypted in the browser; Rustypaste stores uploads as plain files and is driven from curl.
Pastefy
Paste sharing with syntax highlighting and optional client-side encryption; Rustypaste has no web interface and returns raw content.
PicoShare
Lightweight file sharing with direct links and expiration controls, with a shared-secret upload step; Rustypaste uses an upload token sent in a request header.
Gokapi
Expiring file sharing with download limits and user roles; Rustypaste has no accounts and no download limits.
GitHub Gist
A hosted paste service tied to a GitHub account; Rustypaste runs on your own server and domain, with no account.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

You don't: Rustypaste has no accounts and no web interface. Uploading uses the upload token and deleting uses the delete token, both shown in the protected installation credentials.

How do I upload a file?

Send it with curl and the upload token in the Authorization header: curl -F 'file=@example.txt' -H 'Authorization: YOUR_UPLOAD_TOKEN' https://your-domain. The reply is the URL of the uploaded file.

Can anyone read my uploads?

Anyone who knows a file's URL can read it; only holders of the upload token can add files and only holders of the delete token can remove them. Do not upload anything sensitive that you would not share by link.

How do I delete a file?

Send a DELETE request to the file's URL with the delete token in the Authorization header. In QA, deleting with the delete token returned 200 and the file then returned 404, while deleting with the upload token was refused.

What runs alongside Rustypaste?

Two small helper containers with no published ports: one hands the upload volume to the application's user, and one checks that the server is answering.

How do I rotate a token?

Treat both tokens as secrets. Edit the token in the Environment editor and redeploy; both tokens are read on every start.

What is the upload size limit?

The default limit is 10 MB, set by SERVER__MAX_CONTENT_LENGTH in the Environment editor. Uploads are held in memory while they are saved, so keep the limit modest.

What should I back up?

The rustypaste_upload volume, which holds the uploaded files, and the token values from the environment so they stay stable.

What survives a restart?

Uploaded files — a file was still served after the containers were restarted in QA, because uploads live on a persistent named volume.

How do I upgrade Rustypaste?

The image is pinned by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was only a few MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung because it is the smallest Cloud VPS in the OneClick family, leaving plenty of room for other apps on the same server.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Rustypaste?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Rustypaste project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Rustypaste project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
