Sharry hosting gives you self-hosted file sharing on your own domain: upload files, get a link back and send it, with an optional password and expiry. Deploy Sharry v1.17.0 with a private PostgreSQL 18 database, a generated admin login and invite-only registration, published over HTTPS in minutes. Guests can send you files through upload links without an account, and nothing is private by default.
Sharry is a self-hosted web application that allows sharing files with others in a simple way: upload files and get a URL back that can then be shared. Upstream describes optional passwords and time periods on shares, and alias pages that let guests upload files to a registered user. A self-hosted Sharry is an alternative to sending large files through a transfer service such as WeTransfer, licensed GPL-3.0.
On xCloud it is Sharry v1.17.0 with a private PostgreSQL 18.6 database, both pinned by digest, with everything stored on the sharry_db volume. xCloud generates the database credentials, server secret, admin password and invite password, and serves the app over HTTPS. Registration is invite-only, and nothing sits in front of the site except an optional Basic Auth you add.
A Sharry install needs the app, a database, an admin, an invite scheme, a server secret, a domain and a certificate before the first share. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Sharry from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server; the install form has no fields.
Step 02
One click. We start eikek0/sharry:v1.17.0 and a private PostgreSQL 18.6, both pinned by digest, generate the database credentials, server secret, admin password and invite password, mount sharry_db and publish it over HTTPS.
Step 03
Sign in at /app as admin with the generated password, then upload a file with an optional password and expiry and copy the share link. To add people, generate an invite key at /app/newinvite.
Sharry runs here with its files in a private PostgreSQL database, on a server you control.
Authenticated users upload files and get a public URL to send, for example by email. The download page is hard to guess but open to everyone who has it.
Add an optional password and a time period to a share, so the link stops working once it expires.
A registered user keeps alias pages at hard-to-guess URLs where anyone holding the link can upload files to that user.
Registration is set to invite. Only the admin can generate single-use invite keys with the separate invite password.
Accounts, share metadata and uploaded file chunks all live in the database on sharry_db; the app container keeps nothing.
The site accepts request bodies up to 2 GB, and a single share is capped near 1.5 GB by default.
Managed hosting for Sharry, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Upload once and email a link instead of attaching a file, with an expiry so it does not linger.
Add a password to a share and send the password separately, as an extra step beyond the link.
Give a client a hard-to-guess upload link so they can send documents straight to you.
Hand out single-use invite keys so only people you choose can register.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Not by default. Anyone who has a share link can download that share without signing in. The download page is hard to guess but open to everyone, so treat links as secrets and add a share password when you need an extra step.
Yes, through alias pages. A registered user creates an alias page at a hard-to-guess URL, and anyone holding it can upload files to that user. The form has no password or expiry fields, and you can disable it any time.
Registration is invite-only. As admin, open /app/newinvite, enter the Invite Password to generate a single-use key and give it to the person, who registers at /app/register. Keep the invite password to yourself, because it is an admin-only second factor.
There is no single unqualified limit. The site accepts request bodies up to 2 GB, but Sharry caps a share near 1.5 GB by default. Cloudflare in front of the domain may impose a lower per-request limit.
Yes. Sharry ships an official image, and this template is Sharry Docker hosting without the setup: the v1.17.0 image and PostgreSQL 18.6 pinned by digest, one volume, generated secrets and HTTPS on your own domain.
The manifest asks for 1024 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 10 GB of disk. The JVM needs a moment to warm up at start, and uploaded files fill the database volume, so size the disk for what you store.
Yes. Sharry is licensed under GPL-3.0, so the app itself is free. You pay for the Cloud VPS underneath, which makes this a Sharry cloud of your own rather than a transfer service that holds your files.
No. The sign-in and sign-up pages are public, and managing shares needs an account. You can add Basic Auth at the reverse proxy yourself. HSTS is not sent at the platform edge, so do not assume a hardened header setup.
Back up sharry_db with a Postgres dump using pg_dump, since it holds accounts, share metadata and the uploaded file chunks. Keep the generated secrets with it. Whoever can read the dump or the volume can read the files, so protect the copies.
The install stays on its pinned v1.17.0 images until you adopt a newer template version. Back up sharry_db first and read the upstream notes. The Postgres role password applies only on an empty volume, so rotate it inside the database.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
