What is Copyparty?

Self-hosted Copyparty is a file server. Its README describes turning almost any device into a file server with resumable uploads and downloads from any web browser, needing only Python on the server, with protocols including HTTP(S) and WebDAV, a media browser with thumbnails, file search, zip downloads and per-folder, per-user permissions. People run it in place of a hosted file service such as Dropbox when they want the files on their own server. The licence is MIT.

How much RAM does Copyparty need?

Copyparty's manifest floor is one core, 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk as a floor. The 6 GB plan sold here is well beyond that, and disk demand is driven mostly by how much you store, since there is no database, so size the server by your file collection.

Is Copyparty free and open source?

Yes. Copyparty is MIT licensed, per the LICENSE file at the v1.20.21 tag, so there is no licence fee, and xCloud charges for the dedicated Cloud VPS only, and your files and account configuration stay in your own volumes.

Can you run Copyparty with Docker?
