What is Copyparty?

Copyparty is a free, open-source, portable file server and media browser. It supports browser uploads with resumable transfers, WebDAV-compatible access, indexing, thumbnails, archive browsing and granular per-account permissions. This template deploys version 1.20.20.

Is Copyparty free?

Yes — it is free and open source under the MIT licence. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the application itself.

Can I self-host Copyparty?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the pinned Copyparty 1.20.20 container, mounts its two persistent volumes, and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in about five minutes instead of assembled by hand.

Does Copyparty support WebDAV?

Yes. Copyparty exposes a WebDAV-compatible interface, so you can mount your library as a network drive from a compatible desktop client instead of working only through the browser.

What happens if an upload is interrupted?

Copyparty supports resumable uploads, so a dropped connection partway through a large file doesn't require starting over — the transfer picks up where it left off.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The administrator username you choose and a generated administrator password, the Copyparty URL, the private container network, both persistent volumes, the domain and the HTTPS route. The app origin is bound to localhost, so the container is never directly exposed to the internet.

Is there an administrator account?

Yes. You choose the administrator username at deploy time and xCloud generates the password, shown once in your xCloud credential panel. Anonymous access is disabled, so nothing is reachable without signing in.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk as a floor. This page sells the 6 GB tier, well beyond that — disk demand is mostly driven by how much you store and how long you keep backups, not by the application itself.

What should I back up?

Both copyparty_data and copyparty_config together. The config volume carries account configuration and index/history data; the data volume carries your actual files. Back them up together — one without the other is not a complete restore.

Backups in xCloud

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Copyparty?

No. The template pins Copyparty 1.20.20; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Customers should schedule and test their own backups and review upstream release notes before updating.

What survives a restart?

Everything on copyparty_data and copyparty_config, because both are persistent named volumes. Restarting the container does not touch your files or your account configuration.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Copyparty?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and Copyparty has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Copyparty project.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
