Tracktor Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Tracktor hosting on xCloud lets you deploy Tracktor and keep fuel, service and renewal records for every vehicle in one private garage dashboard. xCloud runs the pinned Tracktor 2.1.0 image behind a small nginx gateway that closes public sign-up, creates your administrator account at install with a generated password, mounts a persistent volume and publishes it over HTTPS. Upstream says it is not yet stable for production.

What is Tracktor?

Tracktor is a self-hosted vehicle management app for tracking maintenance, fuel, insurance, registration and other records for your vehicles. It keeps fuel logs, service history, insurance and pollution certificates with reminders, and a dashboard across the whole garage. A self-hosted Tracktor is MIT licensed, and upstream describes it as under active development and not yet stable for production use, so keep regular exports.

On xCloud the template runs Tracktor 2.1.0 from the official image, pinned by digest, behind a small nginx container that answers 403 on the open sign-up endpoint. The administrator account is created at install with a generated password. The SQLite database, attachments of up to 10 MB each and logs sit on the tracktor_data volume. Everyone who signs in sees the same vehicles and records.

From Sign-Up to Your First Vehicle In Just 3 Easy Steps

A self-hosted Tracktor normally means a container, a reverse proxy that blocks open registration, a first account, a data volume, a domain and a certificate before the first fill-up is logged. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Tracktor from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then choose the administrator username (the default is admin).

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official Tracktor image, pinned by immutable digest, behind a small nginx gateway that blocks sign-up and accepts uploads up to 100 MB, create your administrator account with a generated password, mount the tracktor_data volume, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Add Your First Vehicle

Save the generated password from the installation credentials, open your HTTPS Tracktor URL and sign in — the first start applies database migrations and can take up to a minute. Then add your first vehicle in the Garage.

Everything Tracktor Does, On Your Own Server

Tracktor runs in full here: a vehicle dashboard on your own domain, with its database and attachments on a volume you own.

  • A Garage For Every Vehicle

Add and manage multiple vehicles, each with its own fuel type and history.

  • Fuel Tracking

Log every fill-up and follow your mileage and efficiency trends over time.

  • Maintenance Log

Keep a full service history per vehicle and see what is coming up next.

  • Insurance And Pollution Certificates

Track insurance and pollution certificates with renewal dates, and get reminders before they lapse.

  • Dashboard And Expense Reports

A fleet-wide overview with widgets you can rearrange, plus reports on what your vehicles actually cost you.

  • Closed Sign-Up, Your Own Login

The administrator account is created at install and public sign-up requests are refused at the gateway, so strangers cannot register on your instance.

Everything You Need To Run Your Garage Dashboard 24/7

Managed hosting for Tracktor, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Tracktor 2.1.0 deployed instantly
  • Official image pinned by digest
  • Admin password generated for you
  • Sign-up closed at the gateway
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Tracktor

  • Run a household garage

Keep every car, bike or van in one Garage, each with its own fuel type, fill-ups and service history instead of receipts in a drawer.

  • Never miss a renewal

Record insurance and pollution certificate dates and get reminders before they lapse, rather than finding out at the roadside.

  • Know what a vehicle really costs

Follow mileage and efficiency trends, and use the expense reporting to see where the money goes.

  • Plan the next service

Review each vehicle's service history and see what is due next before it becomes a breakdown.

Tracktor vs Alternatives

Fuel tracking apps
Hosted apps that keep your fill-ups and service records on a vendor's servers. A Tracktor alternative to fuel tracking apps stores fuel logs, maintenance history and renewals in an SQLite file on your own server.
LubeLogger
LubeLogger has its own OneClick page. In a Tracktor vs LubeLogger comparison, both track vehicle maintenance and fuel on your own server, so compare the record types, reminders and multi-user options each offers.
Homebox
Homebox has its own OneClick page. It is a general home inventory, whereas Tracktor is built around vehicles, fuel logs and certificate renewals.
Spreadsheets
A spreadsheet works for one vehicle, but you build the columns, charts and reminder dates yourself. Tracktor ships fuel logs, a maintenance log, certificate tracking and a dashboard ready to use.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Is Tracktor free?

Yes. Tracktor is MIT licensed with no subscription from the project. Your cost is the Cloud VPS that holds the SQLite file and attachments, and each uploaded image or PDF attachment is capped at 10 MB, so disk use grows with the records you keep.

How much RAM does Tracktor need?

The manifest wants one core, 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk, because the app uses SvelteKit with SQLite. The 6 GB plan is far above that, which leaves the server free for other household apps beside it.

Can you self-host Tracktor with Docker?

Yes, and this template is Tracktor Docker hosting without the setup: the official 2.1.0 image pinned by digest, a small nginx gateway, a generated administrator password, the tracktor_data volume and HTTPS on your domain, with sign-up closed from the start.

Can strangers register on my Tracktor instance?

No. Upstream leaves its sign-up endpoint open after the first account exists, so the gateway answers 403 on that path and the administrator is created at install. Do not set TRACKTOR_DISABLE_AUTH or TRACKTOR_DEMO_MODE, which would undo this.

Is Tracktor stable enough for production?

Upstream says Tracktor is under active development, may have frequent breaking changes and is not stable for production use, and asks you to keep regular backups. Treat it as a useful household tool, and export your data from inside the app often.

Can I change the Tracktor username or password later?

Yes, from the profile page inside Tracktor. ADMIN_USERNAME and ADMIN_PASSWORD are used only once at install, so editing them in the environment later changes nothing for an existing account, so make the change in the profile page and note the new password.

Do several people share one set of vehicles in Tracktor?

Yes. Everyone who signs in sees the same vehicles and records, because there is no multi-user separation. That suits a household sharing a garage, but not people who need private lists of their own, so plan around one shared set of records.

Why must the Tracktor APP_SECRET stay the same?

APP_SECRET encrypts stored notification-provider credentials, such as email. Changing it makes saved provider credentials unreadable, so you would have to re-enter them. Notification providers are configured inside Tracktor, not through environment variables, and the secret is generated for you at install.

How do I back up Tracktor?

Back up the tracktor_data volume, which holds the SQLite database, uploaded attachments and logs, and keep the APP_SECRET value with it. Also use Tracktor's built-in data export regularly, since the template has no automatic backups.

How do I upgrade Tracktor?

The install stays on Tracktor 2.1.0 until you adopt a newer template version. Copy tracktor_data first and read the upstream release notes, because breaking changes are frequent, and test the new version on a copy. Nothing upgrades the app automatically.

Is there a Tracktor cloud service I can use?

This page is your own Tracktor cloud: a dedicated Cloud VPS running the open-source app, with your vehicle records on a volume of your own. No other household shares it, and sign-up is closed, so only the household you give the login to can see the records.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
