Wanderer hosting on xCloud lets you deploy Wanderer, a self-hosted trail database, and keep your hiking, biking and outdoor routes on a server you control. xCloud runs the pinned Wanderer v0.21.0 web app next to a private PocketBase database and a private Meilisearch index, generates the secrets, mounts four persistent volumes and publishes the site over HTTPS in minutes. Registration is open until you close it.
Wanderer is a self-hosted trail database. Upstream says you can upload your recorded tracks or create new ones and add metadata to build an easily searchable catalogue, plan routes with elevation data, keep lists and follow other Wanderer users over ActivityPub. A self-hosted Wanderer is the trail catalogue that makes your GPS data searchable, licensed AGPL-3.0.
On xCloud the template runs the three official upstream images, pinned by digest: the SvelteKit web app, a PocketBase database and Meilisearch for search, with the database and search kept private. Four volumes hold the database, plugins, the search index and uploads. There is no seeded administrator, the app has no site-level authentication, and the install domain is embedded in trail identities, so keep it permanently.
A self-hosted trail database normally means wiring a web app, a database and a search service together, generating keys and putting it all behind HTTPS. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Wanderer from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server; there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the Wanderer web app, a private PocketBase database and a private Meilisearch service with no host ports, generate the keys, mount the wanderer_pb_data, wanderer_plugins, wanderer_search and wanderer_uploads volumes and publish the site over HTTPS.
Step 03
Save the database encryption key and search master key shown in the installation credentials. Allow about two minutes for the first start, open your HTTPS URL, use Register to create your account, then upload your first GPX trail. Set PUBLIC_DISABLE_SIGNUP=true and redeploy to close signup.
Wanderer runs in full here: your own trail database with maps, search and sharing, backed by storage you own.
Upload GPX tracks and keep your routes under your own control instead of in a third-party service.
Plan routes with elevation data and browse trails on a map.
Search trails and filter them by category, tags, visibility and difficulty.
Keep lists of the trails you want to remember, repeat or share.
Share trails and follow other Wanderer users over ActivityPub, with trail visibility set by each owner.
Registration is open by default; set PUBLIC_DISABLE_SIGNUP=true once your own account exists to close it, and PUBLIC_PRIVATE_INSTANCE=true to hide trails from signed-out visitors.
Managed hosting for Wanderer, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Store the GPX tracks from your hikes and rides on your own server, so your route history does not depend on a third-party account.
Plan routes with elevation data and browse candidate trails on a map before you set out.
Give a hiking group or cycling club one searchable library of trails, with filters for category, difficulty and tags, and registration you can open or close.
Publish trails others can find and follow other Wanderer users over ActivityPub, or keep a trail private by marking it so.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. Wanderer is open source under AGPL-3.0, with no licence fee from the project. Your cost is the Cloud VPS running the web app, the database and the search index, and uploaded GPX files plus the index are what grow over time.
It needs one core and 1024 MB of RAM, plus 5 GB of disk, because three services run together. The first start builds the search index, so allow about two minutes. The 6 GB plan leaves room as your trail catalogue grows.
Yes, and this template is Wanderer Docker hosting without the wiring: the web, PocketBase and Meilisearch images at pinned versions and digests, generated keys, four named volumes, private database and search ports and HTTPS on your domain.
Open the site and use Register. There is no seeded administrator, and the first account is an ordinary user rather than a special one. Create your own account straight away, because registration is open to anyone who reaches the site.
Yes. After your own account exists, set PUBLIC_DISABLE_SIGNUP=true in the Environment editor and redeploy. Adding PUBLIC_PRIVATE_INSTANCE=true goes further for a private instance. You can also put Basic Auth in front at the proxy, which the template leaves off.
Trails are visible to visitors unless their owner marks them private. The template enables no site-level authentication of its own, so mark private trails private, and consider closing registration so strangers cannot add trails to your instance.
Keep the install domain permanently. It is embedded in trail identities and file links, so changing it later breaks them. Choose the final address before you upload anything or follow other users over ActivityPub, since trail links depend on it.
Back up wanderer_pb_data, which holds the database and uploaded files, together with wanderer_plugins as one unit, and keep the generated database encryption key with the backup. Copy wanderer_uploads too if you use auto-import, and test a restore before depending on it.
The install stays on Wanderer v0.21.0 and its pinned database and search images until you adopt a newer template version. Back up the volumes and read the upstream release notes first, because migrations run on start. Nothing upgrades the app automatically.
This page is your own Wanderer cloud: a dedicated Cloud VPS running the open-source trail database, with your tracks on volumes of your own. Nobody else shares the instance, and you choose whether to keep it private or open it to others.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
