What is Dawarich?

Dawarich is a self-hostable web app designed to replace Google Timeline, also known as Google Location History. It lets you track your location history, visualise it on an interactive map, create trips, share your location with family and explore statistics, importing from Google Maps Timeline, OwnTracks, GPX and GeoJSON. Run on your own server it is a self-hosted Dawarich location tracker, under the AGPL-3.0, and not the vendor's Dawarich Cloud.

On xCloud it is deployed as four services pinned by digest: the Rails web app, a Sidekiq worker, a private PostgreSQL 17 with PostGIS and a private Redis 7.4. Five volumes hold the database, shared files, public files, watched imports and storage. Email and password registration is open until you switch it off.

Is this a Dawarich cloud service?

It is Dawarich on a dedicated Cloud VPS under your xCloud login, a Dawarich cloud of your own at your domain, separate from upstream's Dawarich Cloud. Keep SECRET_KEY_BASE stable, because changing it invalidates sessions and signed data.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
