Deploy WYGIWYH hosting and track what you earn and spend on your own server. xCloud runs the pinned WYGIWYH 0.23.2 image with a private PostgreSQL 15 database, generates the admin password, secret key and database password, mounts persistent volumes for your data and uploaded files, and publishes the app over HTTPS with public sign-up disabled. Sign in with the admin email you entered at install.
WYGIWYH, short for What You Get Is What You Have, is an opinionated and powerful finance tracker for people who prefer a no-budget approach. Upstream's principle is to use what you earn this month for this month and treat savings as untouchable, and it offers unified transaction tracking, multiple accounts, out-of-the-box multi-currency support, custom currencies, rules that adjust transactions, a dollar-cost average tracker and an API. Self-hosted WYGIWYH is the alternative to a spreadsheet that has outgrown its tabs, under the AGPL-3.0 licence.
On xCloud it is WYGIWYH 0.23.2 with PostgreSQL 15, both pinned by digest, on wygiwyh_postgres and wygiwyh_attachments volumes. Public sign-up is disabled and every page except sign-in requires login. Email delivery is not configured because the template sets no SMTP settings. The generated admin password only seeds the first account.
A WYGIWYH stack normally means the app, a PostgreSQL database, generated secrets, volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first transaction. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick WYGIWYH from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then enter the administrator email you will sign in with.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official WYGIWYH image pinned by digest with a private PostgreSQL 15 database that publishes no host port, mount the wygiwyh_postgres and wygiwyh_attachments volumes, generate the admin password, secret key and database password, and publish the app over HTTPS.
Step 03
Save the admin password from the protected installation credentials, wait about two minutes for the first start to apply migrations, then sign in over HTTPS. Create your currencies and accounts, then record your first transaction.
WYGIWYH runs in full here: a multi-currency finance tracker on your own domain, backed by a database you own.
Record all your income and expenses in one place, organised across the accounts where your money and assets are kept.
Track transactions and balances in different currencies out of the box.
Create your own currencies for crypto, rewards points or any other unit you want to follow.
A built-in tracker for recurring investments, aimed at crypto and stocks.
Upstream provides customisable rules that adjust transactions automatically, and an API for connecting other services.
Files attached to transactions are stored on the wygiwyh_attachments volume and were still present after a restart in QA.
Managed hosting for WYGIWYH, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Record transactions in different currencies across accounts and see balances without converting by hand.
Follow the use-what-you-earn principle, with savings tracked but treated as untouchable for later months.
Write rules that adjust transactions automatically, for billing cycles or other oddities of how you pay.
Use the built-in dollar-cost average tracker for regular purchases such as stocks or crypto.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes. Upstream's how-to uses Docker with docker-compose, and this template is WYGIWYH Docker hosting already assembled: the 0.23.2 image and PostgreSQL 15 pinned by digest, with two volumes, generated secrets and HTTPS. This gives you your own WYGIWYH cloud finance tracker.
WYGIWYH requires 1024 MB memory, 1 core and 5 GB storage; idle use in QA was about 416 MiB, app 343 MiB plus PostgreSQL 73 MiB. The starting plan here is 6 GB, with room for attachments and years of transactions.
Yes, AGPL-3.0 open source with no software fee. The Cloud VPS is billed, and it can be cancelled any time. Transactions stay in a PostgreSQL volume under your control. Attachments and notes stay with it, under your own backups.
No. Upstream calls it not a budgeting app, because its author dislikes budgeting constraints. It follows a simple principle: use what you earn this month for this month, and treat savings as untouchable for future months. Choose a budgeting tool if you want envelopes.
Yes. Upstream lists out-of-the-box multi-currency support for transactions and balances, plus custom currencies for crypto, reward points or any other model. Check the currency and exchange-rate settings inside the app so balances convert the way you expect.
Use the administrator email you entered at install and the generated admin password from the installation credentials. Public sign-up is disabled: the sign-up routes return 404 and every page except sign-in requires login, so nobody else can register an account.
Yes, inside the app. ADMIN_EMAIL and ADMIN_PASSWORD in the environment only create the first account when no user with that email exists; they never change an existing password. Changing SECRET_KEY signs every user out, so keep it stable once people are signed in.
No. Email delivery is not configured because this template sets no SMTP settings, so nothing sends password resets or notifications. Keep the admin credentials safe, since a lost password cannot be recovered by email and would need a reset from the server.
Back up both volumes: wygiwyh_postgres holds accounts, transactions and settings, and wygiwyh_attachments holds uploaded transaction files. Use PostgreSQL-native dump tooling or stop the stack before copying, keep an off-server copy, and test a restore. Never run docker compose down -v on a site you keep.
The install stays on pinned 0.23.2 until you adopt a newer template version. Back up both volumes, go through upstream's release notes, then redeploy; migrations run when the app container starts. Existing sites are never upgraded automatically.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
