Deploy Drop hosting and run a private, invitation-only library of DRM-free games on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned Drop v0.3.5 image beside a private PostgreSQL 17 database, generates the database credentials, mounts persistent volumes for accounts, game files and uploads, and publishes the web store over HTTPS in minutes.
Drop is an open-source game distribution platform, described upstream as similar to GameVault or Steam. It is designed to distribute and share DRM-free games quickly, and an instance is never accessible without authentication.
You host the library yourself: games live as folders on your own server, accounts and configuration live in a PostgreSQL database, and friends or community members sign in through the web store or the desktop client. This template deploys Drop v0.3.5 under the AGPL-3.0 licence.
A Drop stack normally means an application container, a PostgreSQL database, generated credentials, three volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first game is listed. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Drop from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Drop image and a private PostgreSQL 17 database, both pinned by immutable digest and with no published database port, generate the database credentials, mount the drop_data, drop_library and drop_postgres_data volumes, and publish Drop over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Drop has no default login. SSH into the server, run the setup-link command shown in your installation credentials, open the link and create the admin account in the setup wizard. Then copy game folders into the library volume and add /library as a library source in the admin area.
Drop runs in full here: a web store and library for DRM-free games on your own domain, backed by a database and storage you own.
Every page requires an account, and after the first admin exists new accounts need an invitation issued by an admin — registration without one is refused.
Browse games in the web store and manage the whole library from the admin area, all behind sign-in on your own domain.
Copy game folders into the library volume, add /library as a library source and import them, with or without online metadata.
Covers and descriptions come from an IGDB or GiantBomb key added under Environment; without one, "Import without metadata" still works.
Upstream supports sign-in through an OpenID Connect provider and a desktop client for downloading games; both are optional, and OpenID Connect is unconfigured by default.
PostgreSQL 17 stores accounts, games and configuration, reachable only inside the install's private network with no published port.
Managed hosting for Drop, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Give a small group one invitation-only web store for a DRM-free collection, instead of passing folders around by hand.
Keep a shared library available on your own domain for a LAN group or community, with accounts you control.
Import game folders from a dedicated library volume straight away, and add an IGDB or GiantBomb key later if you want covers and descriptions.
Optionally connect an OpenID Connect provider so members sign in with an account they already have.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

There is no default login. SSH into the server, run the setup-link command shown in the installation credentials to print the one-time link from the container log, open it and create the admin account in the setup wizard. The link changes every time the container restarts until the first account exists, so use the newest one.
No. After the first admin exists, new accounts need an invitation issued by an admin; in QA, registration without an invitation was refused and the setup token was rejected once the admin existed.
Games are not uploaded through the browser. Copy each game folder into the library volume, add /library as a library source in the admin area, then import. Plan disk space for the whole collection.
Metadata search for covers and descriptions needs an IGDB or GiantBomb API key added under Environment. Without one, use "Import without metadata", which imports the game folder as it is.
A private PostgreSQL 17 container that stores accounts, games and configuration. It publishes no host port and is reachable only inside the install's private network.
Upstream supports OpenID Connect sign-in and a desktop client for downloading games. Both are optional: OpenID Connect is unconfigured by default, and neither was exercised in xCloud's QA run.
The three named volumes together: drop_data (uploaded images and the client certificate authority), drop_library (your game files) and drop_postgres_data (accounts, games and configuration). Stop the application before filesystem-level snapshots, or use PostgreSQL tooling for the database.
Setup, invitation and single sign-on links use the site address, which xCloud keeps in step with the domain. After a domain change, re-check any identity provider redirect URI and re-pair desktop clients that used the old address.
No. The template pins Drop v0.3.5 and PostgreSQL 17 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.
The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 20 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 210 MiB for both containers. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline, and a large game library needs disk space on top.
Accounts, game files and the database sit on persistent named volumes. In QA an imported game was still listed in the admin library after both containers were restarted.
No. Drop itself does not send an HSTS header; the site is served over HTTPS with a certificate from xCloud, and HTTP requests redirect to HTTPS.
No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Drop project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Drop project.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No credit card required, and no plan you have to grow into.
