FitTrackee Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Track your runs, rides, hikes and every other outdoor activity in a private web app instead of a hosted fitness network that keeps your location history. xCloud configures the pinned FitTrackee 1.3.4 image, a private PostGIS database, four persistent volumes and the HTTPS reverse proxy in minutes, with a generated administrator password waiting when you sign in.

From Sign-Up to a Live FitTrackee Install In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting an activity tracker normally means an app container, a spatial database, four volumes to wire up, a domain and a certificate before a single workout is logged. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick FitTrackee from the OneClick catalog. Enter a site title, your domain settings and the administrator email you want.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official FitTrackee 1.3.4 image pinned by immutable digest, a private PostGIS database, generate a 20-character administrator password, mount all four persistent volumes and publish the app over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Log A Workout

Open your HTTPS URL and sign in with the administrator email and generated password. Upload a GPX, FIT, TCX, KML or KMZ file — or create a workout manually — then confirm it appears in your workout list with its details and map. Review the registration and administration settings before inviting anyone else, and configure email separately if you want password resets to work.

Everything FitTrackee Does, On Your Own Server

FitTrackee runs in full here — a self-hosted activity tracker with a spatial database behind it, on infrastructure you control.

  • Import Every Common Format

Bring in workouts as GPX, FIT, TCX, KML or KMZ files, from a watch, a phone app or another tracker.

  • Manual Activity Logging

Log a run, ride, walk or hike by hand when you didn't record it with a device.

  • Stats And Mapped Routes

Review distance, duration, pace and elevation for every activity, with the route drawn on a map.

  • Private PostGIS Storage

Accounts, workouts and routes live in a PostGIS database reachable only from FitTrackee itself, never exposed to the internet.

  • Private By Default

Nothing here is shared with a hosted fitness network — your workout and location history stays on the server you control.

  • Four Volumes, Fully Persistent

Database, uploaded files, generated map cache and logs each persist on their own volume, all surviving a restart.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What is FitTrackee?

FitTrackee is a free, open-source outdoor activity tracker for importing, mapping and analyzing workouts — running, cycling, walking, hiking and more — in a private web app instead of a hosted fitness network. This template deploys version 1.3.4 with a private PostGIS database behind it.

Is FitTrackee free?

Yes — it is free and open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the application itself.

Can I self-host FitTrackee?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the official FitTrackee 1.3.4 image pinned by immutable digest, a private PostGIS database, mounts four persistent volumes and publishes the app over HTTPS on your domain in about five minutes instead of assembled by hand.

How do I sign in for the first time?

With the administrator email you entered at install time and a 20-character password xCloud generates and shows once in your credentials panel. An admin account is created and activated for you automatically on first boot, so you don't need to register it yourself.

Can other people create their own accounts?

They can register through the app, but FitTrackee creates self-registered accounts inactive pending an email confirmation. This template configures no email/SMTP server, so that confirmation is never sent — you need to activate each new user yourself from Administration > Users, or configure an SMTP server separately first.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The seeded and activated administrator account, the generated administrator password, the private PostGIS database and its credentials, the application secret key, all four persistent volumes, the domain and the HTTPS route. Only the FitTrackee web application is published through xCloud-managed ingress — PostGIS stays private on the internal network.

Does FitTrackee send emails out of the box?

No. This template configures no SMTP server, so FitTrackee sends no email at all — no confirmation mail for self-registered users and no password-reset email. Configure an SMTP server yourself if you need either.

What should I back up?

All four volumes together, from the same maintenance window: fittrackee_db (the PostGIS database with accounts and workouts), fittrackee_uploads (imported and created workout files), fittrackee_staticmap_cache (generated map tiles) and fittrackee_logs. A database-only snapshot is not a complete FitTrackee backup — keep the generated administrator password with it too.

Can I rotate the database password or application secret?

The PostgreSQL password only initializes the database role the first time, on an empty volume — changing it later in the Environment editor does not update an existing role. Rotate the password inside PostgreSQL first, then match the value in the Environment editor and redeploy. Keep APP_SECRET_KEY stable at all times; changing it invalidates signed data and sessions.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update FitTrackee?

No. The template pins FitTrackee 1.3.4 by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Review upstream release and PostGIS notes and take a coordinated backup of all four volumes before changing the pinned release.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 1.5 GB of RAM, 2 CPU cores and 10 GB of disk as a floor, with more disk recommended for large activity libraries and map caches. This page sells the 6 GB Cloud VPS tier, well above that floor, so there's room for other work on the same server.

What survives a restart?

Everything on all four persistent volumes — accounts, workouts, uploaded files, the generated map cache and logs all survive an xCloud Restart intact.

Is xCloud officially partnered with FitTrackee?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the FitTrackee project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source FitTrackee project.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
