Invio Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Invio hosting on xCloud gives you self-hosted invoicing software on a server you own, without assembling the stack. Deploy Invio from the OneClick catalog and xCloud starts the pinned image as a single container with an embedded SQLite database, generates the administrator password and session secret, mounts the invio_data volume and publishes the app over HTTPS. Your clients and invoices stay on your own server.

What is Invio?

Invio is self-hosted invoicing software, released under the Unlicense, that its README sums up as invoicing without the bloat. Self-hosted Invio lets you create an invoice, share a secure link and get paid, with no subscription and no per-invoice charges. Clients open the link without creating an account, and you manage customers, invoices, quotes and PDF documents from one dashboard instead of a hosted invoicing service.

On xCloud this template deploys Invio v2.2.0 as the official image, pinned by digest, in a single container that runs the Deno API and the SvelteKit interface together. The SQLite database, uploaded logos, invoice templates and any database backups Invio writes all live on the invio_data volume. HTTPS is on your domain, and public registration is off.

From Sign-Up to Your First Invoice In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting invoicing normally means a container, a data volume, a secret, a domain and a certificate before the first client is added. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Invio from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then set the administrator username (it defaults to admin).

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official Invio image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with an embedded SQLite database, mount the invio_data volume, generate a 24-character administrator password and the session secret, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Sign In And Invoice

Open your HTTPS Invio URL (first boot usually takes under a minute) and sign in with your username and the generated password from the installation credentials. Change the password inside Invio, add your first customer and create your first invoice.

Everything Invio Does, On Your Own Server

Invio runs in full here: a self-hosted invoicing app for clients, invoices, quotes and PDFs, with the database on a volume you own.

  • Invoices And Quotes

Create invoices with line items, quantities, prices, tax settings and payment terms, and manage quotes alongside them.

  • Customer Management

Keep each client's name, email, address and tax details in one place and pick them when you create an invoice.

  • Secure Links, No Client Account

Send a secure link and clients can view what you share without creating an account.

  • PDF And HTML Documents

Open an invoice as HTML or download it as a PDF, with logos and invoice templates you can upload.

  • One Container, Embedded SQLite

The Deno API and SvelteKit interface run together with an embedded SQLite database, so there is no separate database service to run.

  • Optional Email And SSO

Invoice email and single sign-on stay off until you add SMTP or OIDC settings in the Environment editor.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Is Invio free?

Yes. Invio is free and open source under the Unlicense, linked from this page at the pinned v2.2.0 tag, and its README promises no subscription and no per-invoice charges. xCloud bills for the Cloud VPS under it, not for Invio, and no paid tier of the software is implied here.

Can you self-host Invio with Docker?

Yes, and this Invio Docker hosting template does it for you: the official multi-architecture image, pinned by digest, runs as one container under Docker Compose on your Cloud VPS with the invio_data volume. It is your own server, not an Invio cloud account, with HTTPS in front on port 8000.

Where does Invio store its data?

In a SQLite file at /app/data/invio.db, with uploaded logos, invoice templates and any database backups Invio writes beside it, all on the invio_data volume. Back up that volume as one set and keep the session secret with it so existing logins stay valid after a restore.

How much RAM does Invio need?

The template manifest asks for 2048 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 10 GB of disk as a floor; measured idle use in QA was about 370 MiB. The 6 GB tier sold here leaves headroom for PDF generation and for other apps beside it.

Does Invio send invoices by email?

Not until you configure it. Invoice email stays off until you set SMTP host and from-address values in the Environment editor and redeploy. Single sign-on is likewise off until you add OIDC settings. Until then, share invoices by secure link or send the PDF yourself.

Do my clients need an account to view an invoice?

No. Invio's README says to skip the how-do-I-log-in emails: you send a secure link and the client views what you share without an account. Only you and the users you create inside Invio sign in, because public registration is not offered on this install.

How do I upgrade Invio?

Upgrades are not automatic. The template pins v2.2.0 by immutable digest, and existing sites keep it. Read the upstream release notes, back up invio_data, then bump the readable tag and digest together. Note the footer shows Version 2.1.0 at this tag, a hardcoded upstream string.

Is Invio an alternative to Invoice Ninja?

It overlaps in purpose. Invoice Ninja has its own OneClick page; Invio is a single container with an embedded SQLite database, focused on clients, invoices, quotes, secure client links and PDFs. Pick the one whose feature set matches how you bill, since this page claims no parity.

Who owns the invoice data in Invio?

You do. The database, logos and templates sit on the invio_data volume of a server you rent, and no third party holds them. Invio's README stresses that your data stays yours if a SaaS vendor changes pricing or shuts down, and you can copy the volume elsewhere whenever you like.

How do I sign in the first time?

Use the administrator username you chose at install and the generated 24-character password from the installation credentials. Change the password inside Invio after first sign-in, because the install values only seed the first administrator while the database is empty and do not rotate it later.

What happens if I change the session secret?

The session secret is read on every start, so changing it signs everyone out, and Invio exits if it is missing. Keep it with your backup. Uploads of logos and template zips are limited to 5 MB, and the front proxy allows request bodies up to 10 MB.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
