What is jsreport?

jsreport is an open-source reporting server that lets developers define reports with JavaScript templating engines such as Handlebars. Upstream says it supports output formats including HTML, PDF, Excel and DOCX, ships the most commonly used extensions, and can be adapted or embedded in a Node.js application. A self-hosted jsreport gives an application one HTTP endpoint for document generation, as an alternative to a document generator such as Carbone.

On xCloud the template runs the official jsreport/jsreport 4.10.0 image, pinned by digest, as one container with the file-system store on a single volume, jsreport_data, at /jsreport. The packaged core is LGPL-3.0, and no jsreport Cloud, commercial extension or licence key is configured here. Can you self-host jsreport with Docker?

Yes. For jsreport Docker hosting the template runs the official jsreport/jsreport 4.10.0 image, pinned by digest, as a single container on port 5488. Built-in authentication is enabled, and templates, assets, users and settings share one persistent volume. xCloud's nginx publishes it over HTTPS.

Is jsreport free and open source?

The packaged core is open source under LGPL-3.0, not MIT, and optional commercial functionality is excluded from this template. No licence key is configured. xCloud charges for the dedicated server and the deployment; any commercial jsreport features you add yourself would be licensed separately.

How much RAM does jsreport need?

The manifest asks for 2048 MB of RAM, two CPU cores and 10 GB of disk. The 6 GB plan on this page sits above that floor, so the container has headroom beyond the template minimum.

How do I sign in to jsreport?

Open your HTTPS address and sign in to Studio with the administrator username you chose and the generated password on your credentials panel. A cookie secret is also generated and used for session cookies; keep it stable across restores. Template scripts run in jsreport's default execution mode, not a sandbox xCloud adds.

Can I render PDF and Excel reports with jsreport?

Yes. Upstream says jsreport renders formats including HTML, PDF, Excel and DOCX from templates written with engines like Handlebars. Create a template in Studio, render it, then call the same engine over the HTTP API from your application.

How do I back up jsreport?

Back up the jsreport_data volume as one unit. It mounts at /jsreport and holds the file-system store, configuration, templates, assets, users, settings and any installed licence files. Keep a copy of the cookie secret with it, store both off-server, and test a restore.

How do I upgrade jsreport?

Release 4.10.0 stays in place because the image digest is pinned and the installed Compose snapshot is kept until you deliberately move it. Copy jsreport_data, read the upstream notes, and then pick a newer template version. Keep the cookie secret with your backup so sessions survive a restore.

Does the jsreport template include commercial features?

No. The template runs only the open-source core. jsreport Cloud, commercial extensions and licence keys are not configured, and the page makes no claim that they are. If you buy a commercial licence from jsreport, installing it is your own step.

Can I run jsreport in the cloud on xCloud?

Yes. jsreport cloud use gives the reporting server a dedicated Cloud VPS with your domain and certificate. Your applications call its HTTP API at that address. Hosting elsewhere? You can connect that server as self-managed instead.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
