Generate PDF, Word and Excel documents from JSON templates through your own Carbone API, instead of sending invoices, contracts and reports through someone else's hosted service. xCloud configures the pinned Carbone 4.25.5 image with bundled LibreOffice, a generated bearer token, persistent template storage and the HTTPS reverse proxy in minutes.
Self-hosting a document generation API normally means an engine, a document-conversion dependency, a token gateway, persistent storage, a domain and a certificate before a single template renders. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Carbone from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain, and optionally enter a Carbone Enterprise license or S3-compatible storage details — leave them blank to use local storage.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned Carbone 4.25.5 image (with bundled LibreOffice) behind a pinned Caddy gateway, generate a 48-character API token, mount the template, render and config volumes, and publish only the gateway over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Save the generated token from your protected installation credentials, then call the HTTPS API URL with Authorization: Bearer <token> — for example against /status — before uploading a template and rendering it with JSON data.
Carbone runs in full here — template-based document generation with a token-protected API, on infrastructure you control.
Fill DOCX, ODT, XLSX and other office templates with JSON data to produce invoices, contracts and reports on demand.
Convert rendered documents to PDF using the LibreOffice engine bundled inside the full Carbone image — no separate conversion service to run.
Every request needs the generated token in an Authorization: Bearer header; anything else gets HTTP 401 from the gateway in front of Carbone.
Render the same template to PDF, DOCX, XLSX, ODT, HTML and more, depending on what your request asks for.
Point Carbone at S3-compatible storage or supply a Carbone Enterprise license at install — both stay optional, local storage works out of the box.
Uploaded templates, generated files and configuration or plugin data each persist on their own volume, so a restart doesn't lose any of them.
Managed hosting for Carbone, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Carbone is a document-generation API: send it an office template and JSON data and it renders back PDF, DOCX, XLSX, ODT, HTML and more. This template deploys the full 4.25.5 image, which bundles LibreOffice for PDF conversion.
Send the generated token as an Authorization: Bearer header on every request. Anything else gets HTTP 401 from the gateway in front of Carbone.
No. Carbone Studio is not available in this deployment, because browsers can't send the Authorization: Bearer header the gateway requires. Use the API with your generated token instead.
Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the pinned Carbone 4.25.5 image with bundled LibreOffice behind a token-protected Caddy gateway, mounts persistent storage and publishes only the gateway over HTTPS on your domain in minutes instead of assembled by hand.
A small Caddy gateway that enforces the bearer token and is the only service published over HTTPS. The Carbone engine itself stays on the internal network, unreachable directly.
No. Rendered files are one-shot downloads — once you download a generated report it's deleted, so render again if you need another copy.
The template, render and config volumes together — template_data for uploaded templates, render_data for generated files and config_data for configuration, plugins and licenses — plus your S3 data if you enabled external storage.
The template manifest asks for 1 CPU core, 1024 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk as a floor. Measured idle use on QA was only about 150 MiB; this page sells the 6 GB tier so LibreOffice's own conversion spikes have real room to run.
Change the token's environment value and redeploy. Treat the old and new token like a password change — update anything calling the API before the old token stops working.
Carbone is released under the Carbone Community License, which is free for use except offering it as a hosted Document-Generator-as-a-Service. The Enterprise image this template deploys runs in Community mode unless you supply your own Enterprise license at install.
No. The template pins Carbone 4.25.5 by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. To upgrade, bump the readable tag and digest together after reading the upstream release notes, and back up all three volumes first.
Carbone itself returns an upstream HTTP 500 with a short error message. Validate your JSON payload before sending it if you need a cleaner failure mode in your own integration.
No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and Carbone has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for Carbone under its own Community License.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No credit card required, and no plan you have to grow into.
