I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. What is MongoDB?

Document-oriented NoSQL database with flexible JSON-like documents. It is open source and self-hosted, and this template deploys version 8.2.

Can you self-host MongoDB?

Yes — that is what this is. Self-hosting normally means assembling the container, and its supporting services yourself. On xCloud MongoDB is a OneClick app, so the server and its services are provisioned for you and you get a host and port to connect to in about five minutes.

Do I need technical skills?

No. There is no terminal, no Docker Compose file to edit and no setup script to run. You pick a plan, we deploy, and you sign in.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk as a floor. This page sells the 6 GB tier, which is comfortably above that.

What exactly does the template deploy?

Pinned image, no floating latest tag. In short: Image: mongo:8.2 (pinned); Service class: data_service, with no domain or xCloud TLS proxy, so clients connect to ${SERVER_IP}:${PORT_MONGODB}; Port: container 27017, bound on the host as 0.0.0.0:${PORT_MONGODB}; Authentication: a root user and password (the password is generated for you if you leave it blank); Persistence: mongodb_data:/data/db. TLS is not enabled in the template.

Where does my data live?

On your own server. MongoDB keeps its state on a persistent named volume that survives a restart, and backups run on the schedule you set. There is no third party holding the data and no export process to go through if you want it elsewhere.

Is it exposed to the internet?

MongoDB is a data service, so it is not published as a website. The template publishes it on a host port so applications outside the server can connect, and anyone who can reach the server and has the credentials can connect too. Use a strong password, create per-app users, and add TLS at your application layer or a proxy, since the template does not enable it.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
