What is Reitti?

Reitti is a free, open-source, privacy-first location-history application — import GPS data and view routes, visits, trips, statistics and live locations on a map and timeline. This template deploys version 5.3.2.

Is Reitti free?

Yes — Reitti is free and open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3 (AGPL-3.0). What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the software itself.

Can I self-host Reitti?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the official Reitti image alongside a private PostGIS database and a private Redis cache, all three pinned by immutable digest, mounts two persistent volumes, and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in minutes instead of assembled by hand.

Who becomes the administrator, and how do I sign in?

Nobody is pre-created by xCloud. Open the generated HTTPS URL immediately after installation and complete Reitti's one-time setup screen — keep the username admin, choose your own strong password and display name. That screen can only be used once; complete it before anyone else reaches the URL first.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

A private PostGIS database and a private Redis instance with generated, coordinated passwords, both persistent volumes, the domain, and the HTTPS route. Only the Reitti application is published — PostGIS and Redis stay private on the internal network.

How do I import my location history?

Sign in, open Settings → Import Data, and upload a supported GPX file. Open the timeline or workbench afterward to review the imported route on the map.

What should I back up?

reitti_data and reitti_postgis together, from the same point in time. reitti_data holds uploaded and imported application files; reitti_postgis holds accounts, settings, location points, trips and map data. Redis runs without persistence as a pure cache and does not need to be backed up.

Backups in xCloud

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Reitti?

No. The template pins Reitti, PostGIS and Redis by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Before changing any pinned image, back up reitti_data and reitti_postgis together, review upstream release and migration notes, then verify sign-in, GPX import, timeline rendering and background processing afterward.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template manifest asks for 2048 MB of RAM, two CPU cores and 10 GB of disk as a starting floor for Reitti alongside PostGIS and Redis — imports, large location histories and map processing can require substantially more. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, sitting at that floor with headroom to grow into.

What survives a restart?

Everything on reitti_data and reitti_postgis, because both are persistent named volumes. Restarting the containers or running an xCloud lifecycle action does not touch your imported routes, accounts or location data.

Does this run on any server architecture?

No — the pinned PostGIS image this template uses is amd64-only, so choose an amd64 (Intel/AMD) server. Reitti and Redis themselves publish arm64 images, but this complete pinned topology requires amd64.

Can I change my domain later?

You can, but treat location history as sensitive data and plan accordingly — update your HTTPS route to the new domain and re-check any exported links or integrations that referenced the old URL.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Reitti?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and Reitti or dedicatedcode has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Reitti project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
