What is Rotki?

Rotki, written rotki upstream, is an open-source, self-hosted portfolio management tool focused on privacy. Data is stored locally and kept encrypted, balances are tracked across platforms, blockchains and exchanges, historical data is graphed, and blockchain and exchange events are decoded into readable history, with profit and loss reports from customisable accounting settings. A self-hosted Rotki is a crypto portfolio tracker on your own server, in place of closed-source portfolio trackers. It is licensed AGPL-3.0.

The rotki_data volume holds user databases and portfolio state, rotki_logs holds logs and rotki_config holds configuration overrides. How much RAM does Rotki need?

Rotki needs at least 4096 MB of RAM, 2 CPU cores and 10 GB of disk per its template, since portfolio size, history and background accounting can need more. This page sells the 16 GB plan for headroom beyond that.

Can you self-host Rotki with Docker?

Yes, and this template is rotki docker hosting without the setup: the official all-in-one image pinned by digest, three named volumes, a generated session key and HTTPS on your own domain, with the container port bound to localhost.

Is my financial data private in Rotki?

Upstream says data is stored locally and kept encrypted, so you control it. Here that means volumes on your own server. Keep real portfolio, exchange and API-key data out of screenshots and support requests.

How do I sign in to Rotki?

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
