Tamari Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Tamari hosting on xCloud gives your household a private recipe library with a meal planner and shopping lists. xCloud runs the official Tamari 1.7.1 image as a single container with its built-in SQLite database on a persistent volume, generates your owner login and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in minutes — registration is closed, so only your account exists until you open it.

What is Tamari?

Tamari is a recipe manager web application built with Python and the Flask framework. For each recipe you can save a title, category, description, time estimates, servings, source URL, nutrition info, ingredients, instructions and a photo, then find it again with search-as-you-type, favorites and categories.

Around the recipe library it adds a meal planner, shopping lists you can fill from a recipe's ingredients, PDF export and public recipe links. It is released under GPL-3.0, and this template runs the 1.7.1 release.

From Sign-Up to Your First Recipe In Just 3 Easy Steps

A self-hosted recipe manager normally means a Python runtime, a data volume, a first account, a domain and a certificate before the first recipe is saved. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Tamari from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official Tamari image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with built-in SQLite, mount the tamari_data volume for the database, recipe photos and signing keys, generate the owner password, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Add A Recipe

Save the owner email and password from the protected installation credentials, open your HTTPS Tamari URL and sign in. Then add your first recipe, or paste a recipe page URL to import one.

Everything Tamari Does, On Your Own Server

Tamari runs in full here: recipes, meal planning and shopping lists on your own domain, with the data on a volume you own.

  • Recipes With Photos And Nutrition

Save a title, category, description, time estimates, servings, source URL, nutrition info, ingredients, instructions and a photo for each recipe.

  • Import From A URL

Paste a recipe page URL to autofill a new recipe. The server needs outbound internet access to fetch the page.

  • Meal Planner

Assign recipes to specific dates on a calendar, up to 30 days in advance.

  • Shopping Lists

Keep a list for each store, add all of a recipe's ingredients with one click and check items off as you shop.

  • Search, Favorites And Categories

Find recipes with real-time search-as-you-type, mark favorites and browse by category.

  • PDF Export And Public Links

Export a recipe to PDF, or mark a single recipe public so anyone with its link can open it.

What You Can Do With Tamari

  • A private recipe library for your household

Keep family recipes, with their photos, ingredients and instructions, on a server you control instead of scattered across bookmarks and screenshots.

  • Saving recipes from the web

Paste a recipe page URL to autofill a new recipe, then search it, mark it as a favorite and file it under a category.

  • Planning the week's meals

Assign recipes to dates on the meal planner calendar, up to 30 days ahead.

  • Turning a recipe into a shopping trip

Add all of a recipe's ingredients to a shopping list in one click, keep a list per store and check items off as you shop.

  • Sharing a single recipe

Mark one recipe public and send its link to a friend, while the rest of your library stays visible only when signed in.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

Use the owner email and generated password shown in the protected installation credentials, at your HTTPS Tamari URL. The account is created on the first start, which can take up to a minute.

Can other people sign up?

Not by default: registration is closed (REG_DISABLED=True), and strangers could not register in QA. To let family or friends sign up, set REG_DISABLED=False in the site Environment editor, redeploy, and set it back to True when they are done.

What runs alongside Tamari?

Nothing. It is a single container with a built-in SQLite database, so there is no separate database service to manage.

Can I import recipes from other sites?

Yes. Paste a recipe page URL into the autofill field. Import and the Explore page fetch other websites from your server, so it needs outbound internet access.

Can I change the owner password?

Yes, inside Tamari after your first sign-in. The generated password is only used to create the account on first start, so changing it later in the environment file does not change the account.

Who can see my recipes?

Each user sees only their own recipes, meal plans and shopping lists. A recipe a user marks public can be opened by anyone with its link, and the Explore page is visible without signing in.

Do password-reset emails work?

Only after you add a complete SMTP block (starting with MAIL_SERVER) to the Environment editor. Add MAIL_USE_TLS only if you want TLS: any value, even 0, turns it on.

What should I back up?

The whole tamari_data volume, as one unit: it holds the database, the recipe photos and the keys that sign sessions and API tokens.

What survives a restart?

Recipes, accounts and photos live on the tamari_data persistent volume, and a recipe was still there after an xCloud Restart in QA.

What happens if I change the domain?

The domain can be changed freely: the public URL follows it automatically. The session cookie is tied to the host, so users sign in again after a domain change.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Tamari?

No. The template pins Tamari 1.7.1 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable image tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 350 MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Tamari?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Tamari project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Tamari project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
